We seem to lack a game plan for four quarters .a forward who can confidently play FF unless we move K mac forward.

Me thinks someone needs to boot a few Eagles boys up the bum .

I am still fuming from sitting in the sun and watching what i watched yesterday not happy jan.

ARGHHHHHHH

there betternow ;)

MickyJ, you are a seriously negative man.

How can you honestly say that sort of rubbish when we lose to Centrals by 7 points with at least 3 guns coming back into the team pretty shortly.... Passador, Treeby and Shirley.

A game ebbs and flows - game plans work and don't work. 5 teenagers..... need I say anymore?

Not meaning to be totally negative .But the plan A game plan sucked last night did u go did u see it .BUT PLAN B almost worked beautifully
And one of the trainers told me Passador is another 5 weeks away.
Shirley those of us who talked to one and other yesterday waited with baited breathe hoping he would be playing last night.you know flown back in time to play as had been done with Knights before.
Back on the Centrals game they kicked so many points it kept us in the game. And at one or two stages we should have or could have run over them.BUT it was down to their bad kicking that kept us in and the damn umpires that gave them a little helping hand everytime they needed it (waiting for a bite from a dogs fan.)
Teenagers one of those Teenagers played one of the best games of the night.as did one jay cheep going into the packs.

So onto the west game.If we use plan B we will win.If we play the way we played against port in the trial we will win.
Use that flooding games we will struggle .

I feel the Eagles have a pretty strong squad and we will have 5 or 6 good players to consider this week. Centrals were too good last night and despite our brave effort I thought the result flattered us.
Too often we went forward to 1 on 4 or 5 situations...I think that we had too many rover types up forward rather than 'smart forwards'. Bt this I mean at times 4 of our forwards at times were Rimington, Lane , Cheep and Rowntree so I will like to see the likes of Westbook and Staple added who can create and keep the ball in the area. This week we can look at Shirley ? Broadbent, Westbrook, Staple, Treeby and Daniel who can be considered. Most of the young lads contributed enough to suggest our depth will be much greater than previous seasons.

I read your comment digested it and given it some thought.i agree with what u are writing .the biggest problem IMHO with the Eagles forwad line is they are looking for Passador .And seeing he is injured a Passador like player Salter is not that type (not his fault put a second or third best back on him and he will win the ball.)perhaps Kenny Mac is .
I will go to richmond eagerly seeing who will play up forward.

Cheers

Looking forward to this game, with both the Eagles and Westies out to make up for losses and under the resultant pressure it should be a great game for one of them!

If West and particuarly Willets kicked straight they would have had the measure of South, yet let it go and paid the ultimate price for doing so, yet a week is also a long time in football and no doubt they both will have a red hot go as a result, should be a great match comming up!

MickyJ...as big a Passadore fan as I am, we have to get used to life without Passa. He will miss the next 4 injured and Ronnie always likes to give him at least 2 or 3 in the reserves before putting him in the league team. I like Salter at full forward as he plays best when in a key role, another proven mobile goalkicker next to him (rather than rookie rovers) will help take the heat of him. We can look very one dimensional at times and I thought we looked that way for a lot of the opening game.

Yes , Nick Sulker could be almost anything if he had a different mentality towards his onfield performance . More physical gifts then most , just quite frustrating to watch at this stage of his career ; work to be done by Ron and the Power I suspect ! And while we are rating players , Fairclough with 4 kicks , 1 mark , 3 handballs ; playing in and around the midfield most of the game , proved ONCE AGAIN his performance is an anchor the team cannot afford to carry any longer ! Players ala Fitzgerald would love the extended run that Fairy has been gifted in the last 2 years , especially as the Eagles are crying out for goals . Miles and Allmond were most impressive for their first game . quote="NO-MERCY"]

Despite the criticism given to Nick Salter, I think he is a very dangerous player...

Yes, he has a few deficiencies, his goal kicking for 1, but he did play Saturday night with a mirgrain and spent a bit of time in the rooms.

i agree with u jakal with the proviso that Slater has the second or third best defender standing him.thats when he does his best work.

Based on last game's performace some improvement is needed but enough was shown to suggest we should account for westies quite comfortably - but then again I did say the same of our first game at Richmond last season and look back at the results to see what happened. Westbrook is a must for the league team this week - it's absurd keeping him in the 2's.

On ball division will benefit form the return of Treeby and hopefully Shirley. Rimmington and Fairclough too few touches for onballers. Broadbent will also add dash and rebound from half back and can see him on ball later in the season. Mc Kenzie still our best on baller. He nearly won the game for us in the second half with his efforts. Defence was sound and hopefully Fiacchi will be ok. Allmond looks clasy, our juniors certainly stood up.

I would not get too cocky eagles fans,West Adelaide showed some good signs last weekend and if your team is not switched on,look out!
Westies will definately win more games this year.Collins should station Cupido in the forward line and attack the game.Since the panthers have the bye this weekend I will be an interested observer at this match.Dont be surprised if the bloods get up! ;)
