West v Central trial @ City Mazda Stadium - 14/3/09

Postby Big Phil » Sun Mar 08, 2009 8:50 pm

So what will supporters from both sides be looking for at the next trial ???

Personally, I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing a few more players coming back into both line ups and seeing them in action...

Guys like Fort Caruso from Westies and hopefully a few more league regulars back into the Dogs line up.

Warning the bridge is out near the club they are working on it. If you are comming from the North best way is to go up to Deacon avenue, turn right at Kingston Avenue, Turn right at Milner Road. I will be there

i'd hope west this week would have at least one bloke apart from a trainer in the forward line as they didn't have any up there on friday after the first 5 minutes
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

He mainly played from CHF LBT but also spent his fair share of time rotating off the interchange bench.

I reckon at one stage late in the game, he was down back as well but that could have just been because Westies were playing 18 men behind the ball anyway. He didn't really do a lot and was a tad dissapointing for West fans I'd say...

Fair enough...

I'm not being a smart ar$e but I guess because the ball spent the majority of time in Norwood's forward half, I guess that's why I thought he playing in defence, plus he has been used there before I think...

Go down Salisbury Highway onto South Road, turn right onto Milner road and you'll find the former ground known as Richmond Oval and Broadspectrum Oval. ;)

You missed a couple of streets there BP. Off south rd turn right onto deacon ave and then right onto kingston ave and then right onto Milner rd and you will be at Richmond Oval, oops i mean City Mazda Stadium.

I would also like to see Damien Hynes played in the forward line.

YEa, he looked a little out of place playing in defence on Matthew Duldig and had 4 kicked on him by half time before Duldig moved into defence for the Bays later in the game.

Hynesy is a natural forward, he played a few good games in the reserves last year and kicked 3 or 4 for SA in the Under 18 Championship at Telstra Dome. I think at one stage, Hawthorn and the Kangaroos were showing some interest in him.

I guess that is what trials are for though and Roy was just experimenting with different players in various roles they may not be used to. Hey, if young Hynes can go on to be versatile like Daniel Schell and play both up forward and down back, then I'd be happy with that.

I think we will see him play in the forward lines in the reserves this year, I think he may struggle to get a league game when we have our best available 21 on the park. But he is a good size and a local Smithfield lad so let's hope he carves out a great career with the Dogs.
