Is the whole stand going to be always used as members, or will the Edwin Smith Stand still be available for the public for SANFL and domestic cricket games. Be good to watch SANFL games from the new stand as well I reckon.

At international cricket matches I think the Bradman Stand is returned to the public while the other 3 remain members I could be wrong about that though

I'm With TheRi here, bastardising our unique oval too much will be a travesty.therisingblues wrote:On first impression I don't like it. I think it changes the character of the ground completely. I like the red rooves of the old stands. Chappell stands are okay, they blend in just enough IMO. Bradman stand is okay, but the loss of the old John Creswell stand is a tragedy. It was a classic old stand with steep rows of seating that could cram a few thousand in. It had sensational acoustics also. I remember a couple of pisspots sitting in that stand during a Shield match and they were hauranging the West Oz players, especially Marsh and Lillee. You could hear every word they said all around the ground as clear as a bell. Marsh later got fined for abusing them back. But that is just to give you an idea of how well it amplified noise. Cheersquads that sat in the back of the old John Creswell could also be heard just as clearly, even if the ground was packed and going off.Maybe I'll warm up to the new proposal given time, but for now I think the stands look too plastic in the ornate surroundings of Adelaide Oval.

I heard a different club is investigating leaving its home and moving there after the completion.

Don't hold back mate...
Mind you I'm glad it is some other club's turn to have a shambolic board
