Looks like it is an open and shut case as it becomes Gliderol Stadium...

10 years.

They have signed as our jumper sponsor for 10 years also.

Great stability in the major sponsorship area there....

Great news for the Bays...

It always pleasing to see companies put money back into sporting organisations, even in these tough economic times.

Well done to Gliderol, great company and actually one of our customers, well done.

Just like Centrals and their amazing long sponsorship deal with Holdens, it's good for the SANFL

If Challenge Recruitment can stop their sponsorship 2 years into a 3 year deal, who's to say that Gliderol wont stop before the 10 years is up?

How can a sponsor pull out* of a deal early? Is there any point of signing a deal for any period?

Perhaps we should look at getting sponsorship from Durex. It wouldn't reflect well on their products if they pulled out early. ;)

IIRC the third year was a option. They are also remaining as a sponsor of a club albeit at a lower level.

Maybe it was mutual agreement HBT. A bit like when oyu lease a building for a fixed period, if there is someone else keen to take it over, the landlord would usually let you move out early.

Maybe this is what happened with Challenge Recruitment. Don't know about over there, but recruitment companies are having a tough time during the recession over here so maybe it was a financial decision.

I agree mate the SANFL is played at traditional ground with proper names like:
"The Parade",
"Lizbeff Oval",
"The Bay Oval" ie, "we're playing Away next week at the Bay"
""Richmond",
"Unley Oval" acceptable to use "Dog Sh|t Park" of course:D,
"Alberton" acceptable to use "The dung heap" of course:D ie, "its gonna be a tough game next week against the 'pies at the dung heap", and

"Footy Park",
etc...I never bought into all that corporate ground naming crap, when it gets to the point that a little deciphering 'legend' has to be included on the fixture card, its gone WAY too far IMHO. Although I've always appreciated being able to drink Dr Coopers famous brew at home games :D

This is very good news for the bays - besides Gliderol Stadium sounds much better than Challenge Recruitment Oval.
