Just curious.
Will Kym (?) Russell get the gig at Westies? Or is twelve weeks in the job enough to scare him off?
Also, Chandler's resignation from Glenelg seems a fair while ago how come they only advertised it last weekend? I would have thought it would have been fairly important to have someone in place at this time of the year.

Probably right.
I was also surprised why the bays took so long to advertise for Chandlers replacement.

As I understand it (and I'm happy to be corrected bu others more informed than I) I think the clubs first strategy was to look around privately and tap a few people on the shoulder to guage interest.
Once it was decided to advertise it was late December - no point advertising then as people go away and may miss the advertisement or have other priorities compared to revising a CV and writing a job application.
We are fotunate we have good people at the club in senior management roles who can keep the wheels ticking over given that DC is still there ATM

Wedgie and Squawk I don't know, As I said my supposition is that they sounded people out as to who, what was said and any outcomes I have no idea.

Paul has left the board IIRC and would make twice the amount of a CEO in his current position

Therein lies the universal problem. Attracting quality candidates is only as easy as the ability to pay them something commensurate with what they can earn in another similar role with a different organisation.
I thought that would be the problem for Rouvers but wondered if he might have been inclined to take a time out from his current role and spend some time in and amongst the black and gold at what is clearly a promising time for the club.

A SANFL CEO position is considered a "junior" position in a CEO's career....a good stepping stone to elsewhere, not a position that is generally going to see long term candidates...just the nature of it

That might change a bit now considering the financial crisis and its impact on employment.

Thats what the prevailing logic should dictate but I am lead to believe they want to get all recruiting and contracts signed before having another spoke in the wheel.
I understand they were quite keen on a former SANFL CEO but he has declined.

I wonder what Kris Grant has in mind after his 30+ year apprenticeship concludes?
