Tips for this week.

Looks as though the competition this year is a lot more even than most would have thought, with Glenelg and Norwood especially showing form not many would have expected. So,have a crack at this weeks winners.Couple of good games over the weekend once again.

Norwood v Port - The oldest of rivals go head-to-head at the Parade tonight in what should be a good game.A big test for Norwood against a Port side which most would agree is headed for finals football, and,if Port are going to be a force this year you would expect them to beat Nowrood tonight.

South v Sturt - Not the way Sticks Phillips would have wanted to start the year, winless to this point.South looked good last week for 3 and a bit 1/4's and had plenty of midfield options which should give them enough opportunity to kick a score against a side struggling for form.South should win comfortably.

Central v West - Sadly for the Bloods fans they are going to run into a Dogs side after two consecutive losses. The Dogs short break (Three days) may have an impact on their ability to run the game out,but by that time they should be far enough in front, but, dont be surprised by an upset in this one.Centrals,just.

Glenelg v North - One for Wedgie and TB.Both sides playing well,North flying early and the Bays showing more than even their biggest fan would have expected.I dont think the Bays have enough options up forward to out score the Roosters and,in the match of the round for me,North will get the points in a close one.

Port Between 80-100points
South 58points
West 25points (they seem to have a better paper side than Centrals but maybe not the experience to get them over the line in a real close game)
Glenelg 15points or more hopefully :D

Am I the only one confused by this prediction?

Here are my 'guesses'

Port in a classic encounter.
South by a few goals over an undermanned, undersized Sturt. That being said the boys have had an interesting week on the track plus a visit to the Dawn service........ Can it inspire them to their first victory? It would rank right up there with one of the better ones of recent years.
Central comfortably at home and in an angry mood.
North in tight tussle. Match of the round for mine.

Port by a fair bit
South cause sturt are struggling
Dogs cause I support them and can't bear the thought of losing 3 in a row
Bays cause I was impressed with their forward set-up when they did us

i tipped Port tonight, but Norwood could get up as its 50/50 and i hope the legs do a number on them
South at home over struggling Sturt, South have looked good this year but inconsistent
Centrals at home, tough to beat there and West arent travelling that well
North in the match of the round

I thought it was a straight forward round.

Port by 2 points
South by 20 points
Centrals by 34 points
North by 16 points after scores being locked up at 3/4 time

I tipped Port by 60 points in the tipping comp (ala Jimmy)
so..
Port
South (Sturt will give them a run, probably similar to how we went against Norwood at Unley)
West (Not close enough to spring for the Dogs to try and lift for this one)
Glenelg (Upset! Bays to find that bit extra against the old enemy)

Centrals have already lost 3 in a row - Port, Glenelg and Eagles.

Last time Centrals lost 3 in a row was Round 16 to 18 in 1999.

Last time they lost 4 in a row was between Round 22 1998 and Round 2 1999.

Last time they lost 4 in a row in the same season was between Round 21 1997 and QF 1997.

I don't agree with stats that traverse seasons :)
