Throughout the 90s' and probably up to 2001 just about every player wore black boots. The only player I remember to wear anything else was St Kildas' Gavin Mitchell. But over the past 4 or 5 years all different kinds of colours are being worn, and that would be the first time I have seen gold on a boot before.

Its not as though he wouldn't cop enough already for his modelling in the Harris Scarfe Catalogues!
He's a top lad though, always had heaps of time for him and his parents so be nice to him, even with those boots on!

I've always hated players wearing stuff that brings attention to themselves. I have always thought that if a player does wear white boots they need to be able to back it up. Some players have earned this right. Grocke doesn't have the runs on the board to get away with that. The more sh*t he cops for that the better. You need to be a gun to pull that off.

Dont agree with you there 2sheds.
In most top sports you need to earn our stripes before wearing certain boots etc.
Same applies to Baseball that I coach.

I agree with twosheds, RM and rr, you're living in the 80s.
People can wear what boots they want these days, at all levels, they don't need to be specially made these days.
But this pair of Groke's is very special!
Cripes, next you'll tell me I'm not allowed to have bright blonde hair as I'm not special!

Bad Rm too.
Back to his boots.
He would probably look better with those boots with a pair of stockings from Harris Scarfe.

Must admit I don't mind varoius coloured boots but they're a shocker.
I'm sure he must have lost a bet.
I probably wouldn't have picked them up if it wasn't for the Eagles trainer pointing them out to me!

Back in the dim dark ages when I still played, my mum gave me a pair of boots she had found in a bargain bin at the princely sum of $2. They were low cut Blue Star boots, she thought I might like to train in them. When I started using them for training, I found they were really comfortable, had a soft toe that enabled me to launch really long torpedo goals, so I started wearing them in matches. Best pair of boots I ever wore, and they only cost $2. I get a chuckle these days when I see the hundreds of dollars being paid for boots

That's probably the most salient point, if he is comfortable in them, he should wear them.
