AAMI Stadium - wake up!

Postby RM » Tue Apr 25, 2006 4:09 pm

Sitting in my Hotel room in Darwin at the moment, I am watching the Collingwood and Essendon game on TV.

The one thing I have noticed is that the paying customer is enjoying the game of footy whilst sipping on their beers.

Watching all the beers lined up on the fence on the half forward line to the right of sceen looks funny and they are not acting like dickheads.

When we go to Footy Park, you wait an hour for a beer and then scoff it down.

Thats probably one reason I dont go to AFL games anymore.

WAKE UP AAMI Stadium!

A beer watching my beloved Roosters........Hmmmm...Nothing better!

Hopefully the most important and last one this year Punky.

But thats not the point. Does the SANFL think that everyone who has a beer at the footy is a wanker and should stay behind the concrete jungle between the yellow lines.

Well all pap smear supporters should be locked up in cages in the zoo for us to throw bread and water at them.

We've all known that for years. Why give them bread and water though

As for the original topic, i agree that it is just ridiculous that you can't have a beer at your seat. I personally don't go to AFL games as i couldn't give a sh*t about them but when i have been for SANFL finals it is a pain in the ass to have to go to the bar, skull a beer and go back. What is wrong with enjoying a beer??

If all the bars were like Telstra Dome where you buy your beer and return to your seat, the problems with all the boof-heads swilling in the bar will be gone. Try and get that through to the SANFL though. Why anyone would want to pay $25 to drink beer and watch a game on the tele is beyond me? Much cheaper (and better beer and bigger tv) at home.

Couldn t agree more.
At the very least let people drink a beer if they are standing up behind the seats.

Indeed not being able to sink beer in the outer sucks arse.

But the other reason I hate it is because of the lack of atmosphere.

Thats why we need a third team. Six games a year with two local teams would be worth going to!

Myself and U LEGS made an attempt to get some chanting going at AAMI Stadium during the NAB Cup matches this year.

It worked to a degree, we got some rounds of applause and whistles but that was it. They weren't willing to learn from seasoned chanting veterans of such calibre as ourselves.

Footy Park and SANFL Admin have it wrong, let people bring a beer down to the ground instead of people skulling a few at each break then making right k##ts of themselves. Limit amount of beer sold to each person as 2, should be no trouble at all.
