Trial Games in '09

For those who absolutely hate the footy off season like me, thought I'd start a thread for any info on Trial Games planned for early in 2009. A couple of clubs have already made some announcements, I figure posters can just add to this thread as they find more out...

So far...

Norwood v Glenelg - Saturday 28th February 2009
Venue and time - TBA

Port v Eagles - Saturday 28th February 2009
Alberton Oval - time TBA

Port v North - Saturday 7th March 2009
Alberton Oval - time TBA

West v Port - Saturday 21st March 2009
City Mazda Stadium - time TBA

Like I say, when ever you hear news of trials announced from your club, add them here to give your side supporters a bit of hope as to how much longer they have to wait to see some form of action on the field.

Cheers,

BP

seeing norwood are now a top 4 team (albeit they didn't win much more than they did last year) are they going to play the crows @ norwood in february ? ..........personally if they ever go back to it i think they should play the previous years premier, could you imagine central v adelaide @ elizabeth on a warm balmy night in february

Norwood game ditched last year replaces by early NAB Cup game in Dubai against Collingwood.

Next year Crows are off to Darwin to play Aboriginal All Stars prior to NAB Cup

i like that idea but who is going to pay the transport etc ?

i like it better if it was a 'national championship match' the sanfl premiers v the vfl premiers so we can prove to them that our competition IS BETTER than theirs in all aspects

Being the last week before Round 1 would they have a trial this weekend?

Some clubs chose to play, some may not...

Port play Westies 6 days before the season opener against Norwood at Coopers Stadium...

I think the year before last Centrals only played 2 trial games and had "the week off" before Round 1...

You'll have to keep your fingers crossed Dutchy...

They all playing in the same side? It would be finals time then so you guys a chance to be playing in the finals? It was a problem at my club when we had footy players playing cricket.

Its only D grade cricket in the Hills so no biggy, but would be nice if they are available as likely to finish top...last year Sturt had the bye GF day and Nick Wark was the difference

I played against Nick when he was at Coromandel the boy could certainly play. Should be very dangerous at D grade level,

Yep a fairly handy contribution. Why are some people so talented at everything i would be happy to be good at one thing let alone every sport i tried.

Have premier vs Premier and find a naming rights sponsor to cover the cost and put up a little prize money
