North Adelaide supporters have been dealt a raddish in their round 4 beer after former FOOTYSA Great Reba has pointed out a more influential quater of SANFL Football than that of Nick Gill representing the NAFC on Friday night against Sturt at the Adelaide Oval
If you cast your mind back to 1990 the Weekend following the announcement that Port Adelaide would enter the AFL (which history shows they dint until 1997)
West Adelaide ventured down to Alberton and Scott Hodges (Port Adelaide champion/legend, 8 time premiership player and 2 time best and fairest) Scott Hodges kicked 8 goals in the 3rd quater to the southern end in front of 10,000 people.

In the 1983 Football Times Yearbook, it has a few instances of 8 goals or more in a quarter:
9 in the 4th quarter - Ken Farmer, North vs Torrens, Round 12, 1940
8 in the 4th quarter - Bruce Schultz, Norwood vs Glenelg, Round 12, 1941
8 in the 2nd quarter - Fred Phillis, Glenelg vs Central, Round 17, 1975

But surely someone who kicked 6 goals and gave out 3 or 4 would be more influential than someone who kicked 8?
I'm not saying that's the case but just pointing out its subjective.

Well at least it was only 1 player against Torrens and not all 3

Pay that. However we are not aware of how many Hodges gave out.

Agreed, hence why I said its subjective.
Ask Reba what end it was as Ive got a feeling it was on the Nothern side and I was right in front of the old little scoreboard pocket for that game and ironically would have been closer to Hodge's exploits than I was Gills.

The thing about Gill was how he blew the game apart in 8 mins! What a ride!

Its hard to believe a North player kicked 6 times more goals in the space of 8 minutes than his colleagues did in an entire game 17 years ago.

That is **** funny.
KG copped it all day long.
And then had a police escort out of the ground, IIRC.

It happened - no point in getting abusive about it. There are other ways to get under the skin of the Port supporters!

Sorry mate, I thought you were talking about the 1990 Prelim final against North, I must have read your post pissed!
The game I assume Reba was talking about was Saturday August the 4th.
