i pinched this poll of the vfl site & i think it is a very good question, i would think we should have more night games perhaps over the first 6 or 7 weeks & then over the last 5 or 6 weeks

Not for me.
I expect to be back in Adelaide in 2009, and the best time for me to go to matches is during day time.
I tend to have other things I want to do at night.

Friday night is the easiest / best time for me to get to SANFL games so I agree! Hopefully more SANFL grounds can get lights installed so that they can have that option!

I reckon they've got it about right ... Early on whilst the weather's nice you get a healthy amount of neutral supporters, but at the first sign of rain or cold weather and going up against the AFL game, the crowd figure drops markedly.

Agree there is some merit though to additional night fixtures within the same rounds in the leadup to winter.

Looking at the popularity of night games Friday nights, perhaps I'd better book the ABC concerts and the Opera for Saturday nights then in 2009, and keep my Friday nights free for footy.... :?

Agreed. Adelaide Oval is the best location for night footy.

Yep and Elizabeth,as a good venue for night footy, is too far away, for me, to be leaving the footy at that time of night. Norwood i don't mind so much.

Only had a quick perusal of Spelly's (yet again) fine work and yep hard to argue with .. Surely the SANFL has their own copy of similar statistics?

I like night games at Adelaide Oval , but would much prefer a Saturday twilite game at Glenelg Oval so can go out for a bite to eat down Jetty Rd after. 7:30pm finish time??. I like the once a year Friday game at Noirwood, not keen on night game at Elizabeth, too far and takes too long to get back to society after game.

whats the go with this theory? not havin a go, just noticed your not the only one to suggest it, just wondering why?

i think they should definetly play more games on a friday and saturday night, and also more sunday games. purely because of the fact that i myself only get to 1 or 2 games a year because of my local (SFL) footy. i'd love to go watch my beloved panthers every week, but simply cant do it. have we got a stat for SANFL games when at least the SFL and SAAFL have the bye week for the association games? just to see if the attendances increase that week?

If you've got a few dates for when the association games have been played say, since 2001, I could do it.
