Sturts reserves won, I got there about the 15 min mark of the 3rd quarter and North were 2 goals up but Sturt kicked the next 5 or 6.
North kicked a couple of late goals and the Sturt ressies won by 10pts.

NOt many were there. Gave me enourmous pleasure to see it too. I will conceed tho that if the game was staged between 99-03 u would have had what we had but wouldv e had less than u.

In the 2s I thought Paley was good again keeps kickin goals and young Paynter.

In the 1s Thomson was good and I reckon Hurley will be a v good player. Coad was also good i would of left him up forward though I dont like himplayin down back.

We were there - not to much to cheer about when this bloke called Gill turned it on and on and on.

Didnt appreciate the booing though when Sturt finally kicked a goal late in the second quarter.

Blind freddy knew it was over and it wasnt a good feeling to see what was unfolding.

It was the North fans who booed so what is your point?

I think there may have been some Sturt fans too.
One guy went off at the end of the game near the race and had to be physically restrained by trainers, it reminded me of Richmond supporters a few years ago.
As I said in a post on footysa I did take a photo of it but didn't think it was a great promotion for the SANFL or Sturt so left it off the pics thread.
He wasn't a happy chappy.

I thought I'd deleted all of them but found one, ironically the one out of focus, this was the bloke:

I was about to say "it was't Curto was it?",

when I looked and thought:

"Isn't that Curto in the background?"

Mmmm... doesn't look like Sturt fan. Must have taken off his tweed jacket and
thrown his bottle chardonnay at Phillips and co.

I knew where the booing came from and didnt appreciate it. Were you one of them

Thought it was in poor form and at that stage of the game it was not in funny at all - I guess I just have different standards than those that were booing.

After watching games in the late 80s and early 90s where touch ups were the norm I quickly began to appreciate what being humble was all about in the late 90s and the early part of this decade.

Ive been to many Sturt-North games and NA have been on the backend of some Sturt whippings and I have never booed the opposition if they are beeing given a touch up.

I have a long standing bet with North supporters who I am close to that who ever loses must go back to presentations and drink the winners beer. We did this and even they thought it was in poor form.

I have posted some positive things about the game on other threads - just in case you have selective reading

So what is your point.

Re the original topic: I saw the last qtr of the ressies and North threatened to roll us at the death again with a couple of late goals (a la Prossie in the last year - 3pts). Thankfully the lads got over the line, Bowen had some good moments in the last qtr.

The difference between being a supporter and a well - I dont really need to say it.

If you read this who ever you are please do not come to another SFC game again - not wanted

Actually full marks to the Sturt players with this bloke, they just ignored him, a couple of the trainers had words to him as well as the one that went up to him but the players handled themselves very well, wouldn't have blamed them if they told him where to go.

Whilst im tellin people not to come to games any more - the bloke who was about 50ish with grey hair on the hill right near the chappell stands who was a roosters supporter.

You will probably not be wanted to - Yellin abuse at a Glenelg supporter who was watchin the game by himself not bothering any one and was a little mentally challenged is not good for any one.

It made me feel sick that people can be like that.

pfft, all Glenelg supporters are a little mentally challenged and they all deserve abuse!!

PS Just kidding, and not I'm not 50 odd and don't have grey hair, well not at the moment anyway.
