PLAYER RE SIGNINGS
The Club is pleased to announce that the following players have signed for the 2009 season; McKenzie, Dabrowski, Powell, Treeby, Passador, Jarrad, P. Fiacchi, Fitzgerald, Geddes and Rimington.

Good to see we have these guys signed on for 2009 already. With the addition of McGregor on a more regular basis and maybe the signings of Biglands and Skipworth I would expect a better finish than 2008. All signs are promising - looking forward to further news on new recruits as we get further into the pre-season.

Id be pleasantly suprised if Biglands risks his knee , I think he is 30 / 70 at best & Skippy is going to be alot harder to sign then we think . Offers from VIC. clubs & ones here will certainly turn his head ! I suspect we will need the cheque book firing to get him this time around , very interesting ? Lets hope Fuller has Plan B , C & D ready to go this offseason for recruits .

I suspect we may need to wait until after the draft to see if we can actually sign any one from Vic ,Tas,WA etc.

The vibes I get are saying the cheque book has already been put to good use.

Amateur club Henley are banking on alot retiring from the Eagles & heading over to Shark Park.

I'm very confident Henley people would be in the ears of alot of players down there even if they have no intensions of retiring.

Interesting to note that Ben Schwarze was not on the list of players who have signed up again...

I know he was out of favour with selectors for most of the year and there was some whispers going around that a fellow western suburbs club is keenly chasing his signature. I, for one, certainly rate him as a player and was perplexed throughout the year when Ben was plaing in the 2's. I think he would fit in quite well down at Centrals, especially having seen what he did to us at Woodvile the day we got pumped by 80 odd points and he kicked 7 or 8.

Any news on Ben from down Woodville way and is it likely that he will move to another club or even go back home to Melbourne if not offered another contract by the Eagles ?

personal View here (sounding like CD)

Moved away from FF he had problems with kicking to the other team .
Having said that at times he played on the wing in the twos and looked good running into the forward line .

At FF he offered a dimension that Mark Passador does not and that was clearly showed against North in round 1 .That is he can take a big pack mark.

Some say he has an attitude problem I can not say if he does or doesn't. But I for one would not let him go to any other SANFL team .Mighty Eagle did post that he was at the seconds game last week.
so for me he should be re signed by the club .

Very true NM, Henley will be waiting to pounce on any ex-Sharker who wont be re-signed or decides to give it in. I think there may be a few on the cards...

I know that Collins is certainly interested in him and anyone who can kick 8 goals in a league game :D .
