Was reading page 36 of The Australian today and fell off my chair
In the media section and based on number of hits in the week ending September 20th 2008 as recorded by Hitwise they ranked the
"TOP 10 AFL WEBSITES"Here were the results
1)
www.afl.com.au - 31.59% Market Share
2)
www.bigfooty.com - 11.82%
3)
www.realfooty.com.au - 10.76%
4)
www.collingwood.com.au - 2.77%
5)
www.hawthornfc.com.au - 2.54%
6)
www.gfc.com.au - 2.41%
7)
www.essendonfc.com.au - 2.26%
8) www.safooty.net - 2.06%9)
www.westerbulldogs.com.au - 1.73%
10
www.saints.com.au - 1.72%
Thats puts this site ahead of news ltd's Superfooty, the official SANFL site, plus sites for the Crows and Power.

To put in some context, the week leading up to Sept 20 contained
- only 4 AFL teams left in the premiership race
- all SA country / suburban leagues in their prelim / Grand finals
- SANFL finals getting into gear off a great Elim/Qual final and the semis to come.
That said it is a MIGHTY result.

These stats alone are pretty impressive. Who said there wasn't a market for the SANFL when the Crows were formed and the Power went into the AFL?
Noting that BigFooty is ahead of the Age's site. No wonder the admin there is pretty cocky.

This is my take on this....
Whenever I want to find out any news regarding SANFL or NFC, I go to this site or the redlegs forum.
Whenever I want to find out any AFL news, I put the TV on 10 at 5.40pm or 7 and 9 at 6.15pm.
I'm probably not alone on this one.
The reason this site gets so many hits as its the only place to get SANFL news RELIABLY and EFFICIENTLY
For AFL news you dont have to go to the web coz its in your face when you turn the TV on or open the newspaper.
