correction to today's paper too - Sturt wont be the first club to have a team in every grand final if they get through - we did in 2000 i think and got 3 out 4 premierships- missed the big one

From The Advertiser today
No SANFL club has ever had all four teams - league, reserves, under-19s amd under-17s - in their respective grand fials in the same season since the einception of theunder-17 competition in 1939.
Norwood came close in 1986 when it played in all grand finals apart from the league, Woodville-West Torrens missed just the under-19 decieder in 1993 and the league in 2000 (we made the GF, but didn't win it), Central District played in all but the under-17s in 2003 and North Adelaide quilified for each grand final in 2000 except for the league decider.
Apparently accordingly to the article Sturt's under-19s/ played the 2nd semi (which was against the Eagles) and their reserves game on Sunday. I must have missed the memo that the game was changed to Sunday as the game was Saturday.

Sturt would be the first, only and last if they were to win all 4 this year.
Eagles made all 4 grand Finals in 1993 and 2000, Think it was the under 19's (cue spell check)who missed the flag in 93 and we all remember what happened in 2000.
Think the Tiser do a pretty good job of covering the SANFL on the whole, but there has been some poor research or editing done on this occasion.

Our new CEO is Christopher Davies.
Media release to follow:
The Woodville West Torrens Football Club is pleased to announce Christopher Davies as the new Chief Executive Officer.
Chris is a former Redbacks cricketer that has a background in banking and is currently General Manager of the Australian Cricketers Association and has served in that role since 2005.
Chris has exceptional knowledge and experience in sports administration and business, and an understanding of the competitive nature of sport and our Club.
On acceptance of the position, Chris stated:
"I am thrilled and honoured that the Woodville West Torrens Football Club Board have seen fit to give me the opportunity to lead such a fantastic club into what I have no doubt will be an exciting future.
Importantly, I'd like to acknowledge the work done by outgoing CEO John Kantilaftas over his 8 years with the club. It is our challenge now to do all that we can to build on these efforts, and strengthen the Woodville West Torrens Football Club's stature as one of the SANFL's premier clubs both on and off the field".
The Club welcomes Chris and looks forward to him returning from Melbourne and starting on the 27th of October at Woodville Oval.

What wasnt said in the above media release is that Chris is an Eagles supporter - i dont have to convert him nor press gang him into buying a membership!!!

The Advertiser failed to mention the top two in this list:
1953 Torrens League Reserves U/17 (19s - 3rd)
1955 Port League Reserves U/17 (19s - 4th)
1986 Norwood Reserves U/19 U/17 (League - 5th)
1993 Eagles League Reserves U/17 (19s - 2nd)
2000 Eagles Reserves U/19 U/17 (League - 2nd)
2003 Central League Reserves U/19 (17s - 6th)
2005 North Reserves U/19 U/17 (League - 4th)
And Davies sounds like a good choice, too.

Also, Port made all four grand finals in 1998 - only the League won
And, we made 3 out of 4 Grand Finals in 2001 - the Under 19s finished 3rd
And I'll bet there are quite a few more occasions where every teams grade has made the Grand Final in the one year. I reakon whoever did the research just looked at the premier teams; and made out that they had the stat of "making the Grand Final" and the other team did not.

He has terrible table manners! Saw him at Scuzzi on Rundle Street a few months back, with his wife & little fluffy doggy which he had sitting next to him on one of the bloody chairs! SACK HIM!!
