A little thought was put into this so here we go: This is only my opinion, yes I have selected some AFL listed players but these players I believe will be with the Eagles for the majority of the season. I'm looking for any ideas any one else may have. So come on down and select your best Eagles side so we can compare.
F: OAKLEY, PASSADOR, VINCE
HF: COOPER, DABROWSKI, INKSTER
C: SYMMONS, CICOLELLA, JARRAD
HB:A.SHATTOCK, PEDLER, McKENZIE
B: FLOREANI, HALL, P.FIACCHI
1R: LINDSAY, COLVILLE, SKIPWORTH
INT: R.FIACCHI, TREEBY, EARL, WIGLEY, GROCKE,
WESTBROOK, ROBERTS, J.BOLTON, M.BOLTON,
POTTER.

I'm after the opinions of all SANFL supporters with legitimate feedback. I don't want this forum to be turned into an Eagles bashing forum, Inparticular I'd love to hear from wedgie, punk rooster, tassiemedalist & doggies4eva. Eveyone else welcome. I've already posted this on the Eagles forum page but thought I might get a quicker response here. Go your hardest guys and gals.

Looking at that side its no wonder I haven't written the Eagles off like some others have.
Easily a top 4 side, a lot after that may have to do with luck or the draw or both.
All teams having their best teams on the park I'd probably rate that side the 4th best side in the comp.
Bit of experience there though which may help in finals games.

Not sure that Drabowski is agile enough to play CHF. At best a stop gap out of the fwd pocket. I don't rate his ruck work that highly either. I think the Eagles should gamble on young Roberts at either CHF or in the ruck - he looks like he has some potential. Lost fatih in Grocke in I see? Played his one "reasonable" game for the year - of course against North

(Thank Jars for putting Hargs on him in the last 1/4 to pad up his stats!). Lack of Key position strength is going to the Eagles this year.

Newsflash for you EHL couldn't give a sh!t about your top side to the point of I've got no idea who plays for your lot. I mean for FFS why can't Michael Dibase and the Ugrinics get a game for your club??
I'm too busy worring about Glenelgs best side and our development as a club. I'm particularly concerned with how we develop our culture and commitment to excellence because best sides on paper aren't worth the paper they are written on..
Play on boys.....

Good feedback drebin. Haven't lost faith in Grocke, I'm not sure he's a CHF so Dabrowski got the not, could play on a HFF but it was a choice between him and Inkster. Inkster has the experience on his side so he got the nod there. So that left him with an interchange spot. I think that Dabrowski could surprise at CHF, certainly tall enough and built to hold down the pos, agreed his nothing more than a stop gap ruckmen sort of last resort.

Yes I thought it was preety good when I compiled it, maybe lacking a little down the spine. Certainly at our best I feel we could battle for a top 3 spot. But we have to play at our best week in, week out.

Grocke is too soft historically and had plenty of chances at North (he was on the Power rookie list remember) in both attack and defence and at time as 2nd ruck. He couldn't get a regular gig when we were struggling at times with injuries and pre 2004 form! He has no recovery or ground skills so he would never be able to play on a flank. Still he might suprise with a change of enviroment but I wouldn't be putting lot's of hard earned on that!

A bit harsh there tassie? If you don't give a shit then why post in the tone you did? I don't think the thead topic deserved that response as it mentioned nothing about the bays.
So we wouldn't expect to hear from you too far into the future then if you use Glenelg's recent past history as a springboard for club development and commitment to excellance?

Very well said Drebin. Last time I looked yes I thought it was an Eagles forum, not a gay bays. If you don't care, don't post simple as that. I'm after feedback from all supporters but please don't turn this into an eagles bashing festival.

I don't think Skiipy will be a regular for the eagles
Once he breaks back in tot he Crows I think he will keep his spot.....
My mail is that will be this week, I would be suprised if the Eagles see too much more of skippy,

Sorry EHL I don't go and hide when a) my team loses and b) is criticised.
My last part of my post is all about any side can look good on paper but they don't always win
Club culture, player attitude, coach relationship with the players is all have a major eaffect on how a team performs on the park not just paper. As a Glenelg supporter I know that more than anyone. Could I be so bold to suggest that has been the major problem why you have the same record in GFs as we do.
So don't worry about what look goods on paper worry about what goes on behind the scenes in the Barry Jarman stand there at oval avenue because IMHO that is your major worry not the injury room.
FWIW I think your teams performance last week was more illustrative of Oxford street than ours if as you suggest the G*** Bay moniker is an apt one for us Bays...

I thought Grocke was ok again against Glenelg. He seems to have worked on his weaknesses. Have seen him several times win the ball from the ground and either set up or score the goal himself. You can understand why he didn't make the North team, but he is good enough as a Centre Half Forward at league level. If he was paid the mark in that third quarter (which he blatantly took, even Glenelg supporters on that side of the ground said so) and slotted the goal to put us in front, things might have been a different story with peoples opinion of him and the team.

I haven't been hiding because my teams in poor form it's just that i'm so b****y busy with work I haven't had the time to jump on the site as much as i've wanted. It's great to have a long weekend so I can jump on a bit.

Well here is one Eagles fan who is not hiding, wish I could
I would put Roberts up Forward he could be like his Dad, he has to improve marking in his hands after last weeks efforts and he could well be a ball magnet .
We need some more youth in the onball department with a bit of speed that could becoming in from the seconds and mr earl needs to show he wants to play football with a hunger and passion.
I like the look of your side EHL and I think Oakley is a Forward Pocket player like you have placed him .
Oh and to 1980 Tassie Medalist why bother to answer a post that you dont give a shit about!!

Hmm maybe because like most other fans sites we had the same discussion about our best side on the Snouts Louts not SAfooty
