These two teams last met in a Reserves final in 1992 (a 1st Semi), when Glenelg won 19.20 to Sturt 8.6. Interestingly, these clubs have met in an Elimination, a Qualifying, a 2nd Semi, and a Grand Final once, but have played in 5 1st Semi Finals. One of those was drawn (1958), 13.13 apeice. Sturt won the replay by three points.

The 2nd Semi that these two clubs have played in was 1975, when Sturt won 28.20 to 17.7.

Of more relative concern, is this years meetings, in which both sides have won once. In Round 5, Sturt won 13.10 to 8.8; and in Round 13, Glenelg won 11.10 to 7.10.
