Generally not. They do regularly pop up and beat port though.

Yes, I guess, but more to it than that.

We were without our 4 best defenders. We played very well today and showed some great signs ahead of next week's crunch game.

Generally not if he was relying on Norwood to win for his own teams benefit.

Gee we tried hard to lose it for three quarters.

 poor options going forward
 2nd to the ball
 trying to play dry weather footy on a wet day - how many times did we do the extra handball
 being outworked to and around the contest for 2 and a half quarters.
 reaching in for the footy rather than getting our body behind it and going forward through the footy

Fortunately Mark got to them quick at 3/4 time and laid down the law and lo and behold the boys lifted.

Ty Allan sensational in the centre square in the last qtr got front position and about 3 free kicks in 5 mins (gee it is amazing what happens when you play in front) and away we went. Gee how good did our forwards look when we got the ball in quick

Anyway the positves are that the value of hard work and persistance got rewarded, we demonstrated that we can change and adapt our game plan to suit the conditions and that we have a strong group of mentally resiliant footballers.

Well done boys top spot on the back of 1 and a half to two qtrs of footy. We will need four qtr effort a la the Port game last week to get another week off.

Head downs boys as Cornesy said in the rooms after the game, the hard work starts now...

Done well to get within 20 points. Effectively a dead rubber for us, there was never going to be a draw at Alberton. Gays had more to play for and done enough to get home. Different story next week.

Pleased with the way we won ugly in this one. Not all finals matches will be high-scoring, exciting contests, so it was a good sign for the boys to guts this one out.

Also pleased to see that we appear to have an edge over most other sides with physical fitness and application of strong mental strength, which will come in handy for us come finals time. While we may play three average or competitive quarters, we have shown in recent times that we can play a big final term, and get over the line...

Come finals time, I'd expect us to be switched on from the outset, because you will not catch Sturt or Centrals after you've given them too big a start.

Ha ha the voice of experience ya reckon Boon? You should have heard the 3AW boys cacking themselves when they found out Cornesy is going to be a dad again. Funny stuff.

I also meant to add Great courage shown by Josh Donohue of Norwood to back abck and wait for mark knowing full well he was going to crunched - he took the mark and got cleaned up legally (in the sense a free kick was paid - it wasn't reportable)

He then played well an was very usefull around the traps.

IMO, based on teh alst few weeks he is a good chance for the Star Search award.

I totally agree T.B. The Bays have yet to put together 4 good quarters in recent months and seeing that Sturt and Centrals are playing very good football, the Bays will need every player to give their all for 4 quarters.

I just hope our " effort indicators " are correct in their analysis.

Norwood were impressive , went hard all game and matched Glenelg. On that performance woud expect them to beat Port by five goals. :D
