Under 19s Round 23 results and 1st round of finals

Postby spell_check » Sat Sep 06, 2008 6:20 pm

I saw the last half of the Under 19 match at Woodville today, and despite the home side having a 25 point lead at half time, it was an arm wrestle up until the 22nd minute mark of the last quarter, when two quick goals by the Eagles decided the match, and the minor premiership.

From half time, the score were:
Eagles 8.2 12.3 15.9 (99)
Port 3.7 7.9 9.10 (64)

Dang !

The Bays SMASHED Norwood today...

Bays 24 18

Legs 5 7

At half time Norwood had only kicked points

When I left Norwood it was 5.1 to 0.0 ... when did they kick their first goal?

You still had to do the quarter time score though. :) And I couldn't wait to post it, seeing how we have top spot. ;)

whatever or MightyEagles, I was wondering if you saw a reversal free against an Eagles player (can't remember which one), where the Eagles player had taken the mark and it looked as though the umpire was bringing the player on the mark towards the centre a couple of metres.

Then suddenly he instructs the Eagles player to hand the ball over, for what I have no idea at all. If it had been the Port player who had the ball in the first place, it would have been a 25 metre penalty no questions asked. But there wasn't any.

yeah strange, I assume Sumner had a go at the umpire over where he was placing the guy on the mark so the umpire reversed it. some umpires are verystrict on swearing in the junior grades which in generral is a good thing but frustrating for the spectators when they dont hear it.

Also frustrating when they pay it when the player swears at himself for stuffung up a kick although they have been better at letting that go recently.

The report on 41 for a FAD was a joke as it wasn't even an GAD as the bump effected the kick.

Dawsons mark of the year candidate in the second was good but I think Stanley's (WA)against port earlier in the year was better
