The Crows are all but sewn up to play a final on a Saturday Afternoon. I know that people on here that support the Crows and an SANFL side would always choose the SANFL side, but we all know how that spells for crowds.

It stuffed up the scheduled double header between Port/North and South/Glenelg in 2006. The stand alone Adelaide Oval match on Saturday for that year should have alone got a crowd of 5,000. Particularly because these two teams had the longest finals droughts up to that time.

Result? Just 1,992 fans; at least three of those supported neither of those teams.

Last season, just 6,831 attended the 4 games in Round 23. The two matches that had a bearing on the 5 drew just 4,282 combined.

This year, there are three more matches to have a bearing on the final five. This won't happen, but the only solution I can see is to change the TV match to West and North, and the Glenelg and Alberton games to Sunday.

Mate, relax the 'Aints are going to touch up Essendon by 15 goals.

The crows will play SAturday night or possibly even on Sunday...

I think it was shown that Adelaide will play on Saturday, I don't know how they work it out.

I guess we have to wait until monday to find out

They are showing the 1st QF being played on Saturday afternoon (ATM it is Geel v Adel). As I said Adelaide may not be there yet.

Yeah great suggestion, give North and West more rest till their next game instead of teams in the finals. FFS.

Your idea will get 2 or 3k more through the gate, big deal. Not worth the effort to alter the fixture.

Move all finals to Saturday afternoons with the prelim the exception on the Friday night and you'll get 30k or more extra to games.
AND leave the program alone after deciding upon these things 11 months out, NO changes should be allowed.

Throw the little fish back in the water spelly and think of the bigger picture.

i don't think you'd really know what games are on when as the afl will work out what times/days each game will get the best result finacially, iirc numbered finals mean nothing as i'm sure final #2 has been played before final #1 in the past

Melb Radio saying definite Hawks/Dogs Friday night. Saints to get the biggest break as they are playing Sunday late.. and Pies coming back from Perth. Swans more than likely to host the Roos thus that will be the Saturday night game. Looks at present that the Cats/Saints will be Sat arvo at the G.

If this is the case Glenelg most certainly should swap to Sunday.

i don't think we'd swap because of an afl fixture with a final looming the next week but i could be wrong

Both cases are only if St Kilda win by less then 90 points against Essendon

Im sure there will be more Port supporters there than Eagles supporters.

That will always be that case, but how many more is the question. Not that it would matter too much to players, as they have played and won a number of times in front of a similar constituted crowd.

If you want to see a good game of footy you'll be at the Bay next Saturday.

If you want to watch the shortest priced qualifying final favourites give the Crows a sold going over (assuming StK don't belt Ess), you stay at home and watch a belting....

I think the SANFL should look to the fine example made by the genius's at North this year.
Not only move matches but move matches that weren't in competition with the Crows to direct competition with them.
Its foresight and smarts like that from the North administrators that will send the rest of the league forwards!

But you know Tassie, with my 2006 example, where the Bays/Crows fans will be - it was the biggest game for Glenelg in 7 years!
