IMO we will have 4 players drafted this year.

Hamish Hartlett
Matthew Martin
Rhys Stanley
Tyson Slattery

Beech and Webb are the other roughies for us.

Who do you all think will go from your club?

I can't see Morris getting drafted Thiele not enough leg speed for his size. Which is good for us i guess we need to keep some of the promising ones.

I think you're spot on, wyc.

Scott Blesing might also be a chance and Matthew Martin didn't harm his chances with a good game against Norwood on Saturday.

Yes R&B i forgot about Scott he will be a chance as well but maybe a lack of leg speed will keep him with us as well.

From Centrals...

Damian Hynes - big strapping FF / CHF with a great set of hands and good kick for goal. Played a couple of games in the State Under 18 championships, playing reserves at the moment. The Hawks and Kangaroos have already expressed their interest in the local Smithfield lad.

Thomas Dunn - Another soldly bult forward, played Under 19's for most of the year. Has been in the reserves for the last month or so and has proved to be capable, taking strong marks and kicking goals with his accurate left foot. Kicked 5 against South on the weekend.

Ashley Duncan - Second year reserves player with great posie and running power off a hlaf back flank. Played for the State Under 20's so would have had a few scouts watching him that day. Silky skilled left footer who does all the 1%'ers, one of my favourite players to watch.

A good thing i reckon. Nice to have a mature, settled side with the odd young gun coming through. That's the cornerstone of success (see cdfc )....

Not sure Port will have any draftees to be honest. Theres a few around the mark but not sure. The best of the chances:

Kerren Hall - Have been pushing his barrow for three years now. I rate him highly. Has been great to see him get so many league opportunities this year. Played out of natural position in the ruck, hes spent most time over the past few years mainly at either FB or CHB with some time at CHF as well. I think if he was to be picked as a rookie, he'd develop a lot in the AFL system and would be a bargain get. I hope Port look at him

Jay Shannon - Mail Medal winner, had a good solid championships and has played well at both 19s and reserves level this year. I think hes the most likely to be drafted in the main draft this year, but think he'll miss out.

Casey Carr - Just missed out last year after a great Championships, has put his name forward again this year with outstanding reserves form and 6 league games - with his breakout game being a 3 goal performance against West Adelaide. Quick, good skills, another rookie possibility.

I think guys like Mardling and Kirkwood will miss out due to height/size issues and Grove will miss out again.

At 24, is probably too old, sounds bad doesn't it, but it's reality in the AFL...

Tough as nails Ty might just be a yard or 2 slow for the big league plus I wouldn't think thr Bays fans would want to see him go...

Ah ok, didn't realise he was 24. If the AFL bring in the mature rookie, maybe he could be a chance, but yeah i'd agree he may be a fraction too old.

From the Eagles, Broadbent is a certainty to get drafted. Hall should, but his small size might push him down to a rookie list. Davoren and Redden would be an outside chance.

From Sturt of the top of my head, I'd think Sharples, Wark and possibly Fittock

At the Legs I reckon Schoenmakers is the best bet to be drafted ... Stopp and Speight possibilites.

Yep Tommy is a gem and a disgrace if he doesnt get a crack, he would already be better than 30% of current listed players

Correct. Wouldn't be surprised if Toddy G got a rookie contract somewhere. He's only 20, and forwards like that don't grow on trees...

No one in the ressies really stands out except Alex Carey and he'll go next year....
