Well, given the way the scores are going in the Port vs. North game right now, it would appear Port aren't happy to sit aside and hope for other results to fall their way...they appear to be really going after some wins to put their spot in the 5 beyond doubt.

Bays have a massive task next week...no doubt about that. Port at home, on the eve of finals and following what appears to be a good win over North, will be a very difficult proposition for us.

We only just got over Port at home earlier in the season, so they know how to play us and shut us down...

Too early to pick the result. I'll see what the sides are going into the game and assess my gut feel later in the week.

We Eagles need Glenelg to win.

Assuming Port continue thumping North today.

- Eagles
- would be eliminated in Rd 22 if Norwood defeat Eagles AND Port defeat Glenelg
- If win last two games v Norwood & Port, at worst they will be TIED for 5th and it will come down to percentage

Have made the appropriate correction. Yes I am pre-empting Port v NORTH but so has everyone else.

Pressure building on the Bays? won only 2 out of their last 5, beaten by South, Centrals and Eags. Lose this and it will be 2 from 6!! Hmmmm, crunch time for both teams.

Well, I'm jumping on the Glenelg bandwagon for the next fortnight! Surely they haven't peaked too early?

after watching port today we will have to inprove 300% in all aspects of the game to have a realistic chance to win, time to lift tigers

1. The REAL Port at Alberton.
2. Port in good form leading into the finals,
3. The Bays are on the slide going into the finals.
4. Glenelg's form at Alberton is woeful.

Add it up and....well..... it's going to take a big effort from the Bays next weekend.

As a friend of mine ( red hot maggie fan ) said to me today, Port will tear The Bays a new one and the result...." Never In Doubt ! "

i think this game deserves a big crowd, can we get to 10,000 ? i'd suggest we'd get 8,000-10,000 given a nice day, could there be more ?

I'd think 5000 going by this weeks no shows at the Eags Bays game, but that PAFCAFL1997 are playing in Melb there might be a few more.. there should be 10,000, you're right Bayman but there won't be.

On form you'd have to pick Port.
On history you'd have to pick Port too.

Hargs has been down the last month & a bit, he needs to fire quickly or this may be his last game, his workrate at ground level needs to improve big time if the ball keeps hitting the ground up fwd.
Biasci must come in for pace & crumbing the 50/50 contests or packs up fwd & also can give you some pace in the midfield.
It was good to see AhChee put where he's best suited, "down back" instead of trying to make him into a fwd he'll never be, his work on Alleway last week was a key to Ports win, he gives alot of confidence to the young ones down back & creates alot of drive which helps setting up the quick entry inside 50, must give him the best backman.
If Port play with the same intensity as last week & use the ball & hit targets like they also did with quick movement i can see them knocking off the Bays.

Just heard Zac Milbank reading out the Bays side for this weekends big clash with Port down at Alberton on Sunday...

Although I can't recall the side line for the line, there were 2 interesting selections made that caught my eye, or ear I should say !!

After returning to the club a few weeks ago, changing his mind on persuing an olympic rowing career, DANIEL KIRK comes into the 21 at the expense of the inexperienced young Seb Gilhaus. After spending the last 2 weeks in the reserves, Kirk certainly deserves his recall to the side having kicked 5 goals in both games and no doubt comes into the league team to be an extra forward option if needed, but more so to back up lead ruckman Trevor Cranston.

The other piece of selection news, that will probably not come as a suprise to some Tigers fans, is that JUSTIN McCONNELL has been DROPPED to the reserves to find some form. Having an up and down season by his own admission, Macca did find touch again a coupe of weeks back, kciking 5 goals against the Roosters in the win down at the Bay. But last week in the loss to the Eagles, Justin looked to be struggling once again to get in the game, although he did kick 5 behinds. He now finds himself lining up at full forward in the reserves on Sunday in what could be an interesting move so close to finals.

Obviously not a good time to find yourself out of the side for the first time. Sugars also playing all but a couple up in the 1's. Kirk in for Seb, Matty Graham possibly in for Macca. Backwell also a good in. Hopefully not too soon.

Will be interesting to see how McConnell reacts/adapts. Sometimes the ressies isnt the easiest place to get a kick when you are not renowned for the hard stuff.
