Unfortunately I don't.

Would love to have been there.

Will definitely be at the return clash at Elizabeth.

Message from GrandCentral.

Cowan & Schell did not start. A bit of a baptism of fire. We had no bench for more than a half. Switala, McCabe and R Cochrane all injured. Switala copped a broken cheekbone in the first 5 minutes I heard.

It was always going to be a struggle with no experienced forwards. Port should have annihilated us yet even they weren't that impressive. Not being able to rotate the midfield hurt just as much as not having Schell and Cowan available.

Thomas, Wilson, Aufderheide, Slade and O'Sullivan stood out for me while Westhoff also impressed.

Christ, talk about an attack fest at Noarlunga Oval with us giving South a 6 goal to zip headstart until the 20 minute mark of the first quarter.
Very happy to get out with a win, took a few pics but have visitors tonight so most will get put on tomorrow.
Here's my fav though as a teaser:

Yeah O'Sullivan was good. It says he is 16 in the budget. Is that true?

Just remember, Port were also missing most of their forward line. Evans, Waterhouse, Wait and Stevens didnt play.

The game at Noarlunga would have been great if you were a neutral.
If you were a North supporter - very bloody frustrating!!!

First quarter was a great advertisement for SANFL footy, South kicked the first 6 , North the next 5 (and missed a late shot which would have put us in front). 11 goals in the first term, Gill took a contender for mark of the year and Ladhams drilled a 70m screwie through the sticks.

Second term, South kicked a few early ones, North pegged them back and it was about 3 points South's way at half time.
Third quarter we finally took a bit of control and ended up winning the game in the end, very happy to get out of Noarlunga with 2 points, especially after giving up a 6 goal head start.

Nick Gill was BOG for me, took a lot of great grabs, if he had kicked straighter he would have had a bag, kept us in the game early on. Howard continues to impress, Matty Campbell did alright, Ladhams was great in the first half.. memory is a bit hazy so hard to say who else played well. Cupido looks very good for South and Warren has continued on with his good form from last year.

Another good win for Norwood today :D

Especially when you consider the leading goalkickers from last week (Vlatko, Hill) didn't
feature prominantly (Hill didn't play), plus B. James and Borlace apparently weren't their usual selves.
Happy to hear WA recruit deJongh was a real presence up forward.

Glenelg defeating the Eagles so easily is a bit of a surprise.
The Bays learning to finish off games now?

Game at Noarlunga wasn't a bad contest at all. Can't recall the last time I've seen South so switched on the first 20 minutes of a match before.

I know its very early days, but.....are Sturt early favourites for spoon? I dont just say that becasuse they havent won yet, but to me they dont have the depth of some other clubs. Then again, they do have some great players so could still battle for a position in the 5.

A case could be made for it but I still think Sturt'll be around the middle of the pack looking to sneak in the 5 come finals time, along with the Bays and Norwood. Get a few injuries though and that will change - as you say the depth just isn't there. Some juniors are getting a lot of game time at the moment. Looks like being a really close season - couldn't say with any conviction who will be spooners and who will win the flag...

Anyone know how Matt Cooper went for the Eags today?
