Rhett will be a likely starter for the Eagles next year and a handy one at that. The club may have to spend some time twisting his arm though like Glenelg with Matthew Bode this year who was looking at quitting altogether.

This would be fantastic if it was the case but I'm prepared to wait for the signature on the dotted line before I get too excited. Congratulations to Rhett also on an outstanding AFL career unfortunately cut too short by injury.

I would think that it would be very doubtful that Biglands will play SANFL footy next season.

Only the Great Mans desire.

Realistically....? I don't think so.

A Contract "Somewhere" with the Crows, Awaits..!

Well Done Champ.

Having not played for two years, he might still have the desire to pull on the boots at SANFL level. Hopefully he does. Would be great to see him finish his career with the Eagles. If he does have a role with the Crows, it might be flexible enough to allow him to still play, like Ben Hart did last year.

Doesn't he commentate for TripleM's AFL coverage???

Maybe they'll make him a better offer than the Eagles/SANFL could.

Last Saturday morning Rhett was with Kym Dillon and another bloke I didn't recognise at the airport obviously IN TRAINING for a media career.
I suppose you Eagles supporters need to have hope!
Personally having knee troubles for over half my life I'd say if he's finished at AFL level, there ain't no way he's playin' SANFL!

I get annoyed when people go over the top.
Rhett's career could hardly be described as "outstanding" or "excellent"

I agree G...

I think "honest" sums it up in regards to Rhett's AFL career...

Would have to be the worst kept secret Rhett said in may he was going to pull the pin ,and told me he wanted to play with the eagles for a couple of years.

It would be great to see Rhett line up for the Eagles but I doubt it will happen. Like he said his body is shot, why try to work through that when there is little to achieve. Also his envisaged contract within the SANFL would not justify the 5 1/2 days a week committment...I think he will move into a different area like media...at least double the money for doing not much. Yes will love him to have a crack with the Eagles but I will rather see us put energy into luring Sam Jacobs home or further develop Jono Lee.

Well given your sentiments about O'Hara's knee injury on that thread I hope the over rated Biglands snaps his cruciate the first time he runs out for the Eagles just so we can all shed a tear.

No need for a ridiculous statement like that Drebin. Why do I expect any different coming from a North fan though. There's no need to wish any sort of injury whoever they are. Friend or foe you don't wish that on anyone. Having a player of the calibre of Biglands play SANFL can only further enhance our great competition.
