Eagles, Glenelg & Norwood do well out of ABC in this allocation. I think that leaves the dogs at 3 for the minor round. I wonder if the reigning premier has ever had so few telecasts? :?

Yep, heaps of times.
I know for a fact that North's 1900, 1902, 1905, 1920, 1930 and 1931 premierships got not 1 game telecast when they were regining premiers!!
Now stop ya whinging smac!

PS Ive only seen Central twice this year and they've lost both times, no wonder they're not shown!

Could we get a breakdown of the broadcast/telecast distribution per club for the entire minor round please? i.e. how many telecasts/broadcasts each club was allocated.
Thanx :D

My count is:

North Adelaide 9
Eagles 9
Norwood 5
South Adelaide 5
Sturt 5
Glenelg 5
Port Adelaide 4
West Adelaide 3
Central Districts 3.

The bias towards North and the Eags is vastly excessive (despite what I know Wedgie will say). For the balance though, they've done a pretty good job of balancing it out. Except for Centrals: only 2 'discretionary' games for the reigning premiers for the whole year (ANZAC Day game is an automatic broadcast) is well and truly on the skinny side.

I agree its very excessive towards North and there's a very good reason in that they play all but 2 home games on a Saturday afternoon. Id assume spiralling petrol costs might come into it too with those 2 clubs not being far for the OB van to go. I haven't taken as much notice of the Eagles but I'd assume they have a lot of Saturday afternoon games too.
Do a breakdown of which clubs play the most Saturday afternoon games and you'd probably have a similar break down of games although Im happy to be corrected.
I'd assume that early on the ABC were keen to cover these 2 teams (before they imploded) seeing as they were 2nd and 3rd last year.
I can remember North only having 1 game on the ABC in the early 2000s for an entire season, ita evens out. If anything North would prefer less games covered as it would be one of the factors affecting their crowds this year and we play our best football when the ABC isn't there!
