Members' Communication from their Clubs.

Hey everyone,
A simple question, what kind of communications do you receive from your clubs?
At Norwood we get nothing except a "Member's Update" e-mail that is just an advertisement from the "club" for it's pre-match function. We receive a Redlegs Review about every 3 months but our last one was all about the Hall of Fame so we haven't heard from our "coach" for nearly 5 months.
On our website we have 2 sections - "On the Field" and "Off the Field". The first was updated on 30/06/08 and the latter on 20/05/08. So what I am saying are Norwood supporters and members are expected to be good little mushrooms and not question anything. It does amaze me that the "club" cant update ther own web-page but can browse the Redleg Talk forum looking to censor posts!

Any feedback appreciated.

We get the same except for when it comes to the website, our website is exceptional and provides fantastic up to date news and services for members, they have a virtual runner service where you can ask anyone involved with the club an answer and get a reply. I have no complaints, as long as you have the web you're laughing as far as info and feedback goes with the NAFC, one of the things they do do right! :D

Yep, every Monday we get an update on the previous weeks game inclusive of coaches comments and upcoming events at the club.

Friday we get the weekend word which is basically the sides as named in the paper.

Two Tiger talk magazines a year (hard copy) in addition to a monthly e-newsletter "paw-prints"

One thing we could do better is a more infomative website but generally it is kept up to date pretty well.

Communication with the members has improved markedly over the past three years.

We're very lucky at the Eagles. We get a review by Peter Argent the day after the game. Then we get Coaches Comments every week (win, lose or draw) from Ron Fuller, which I think are pretty honest assessments of where the club is at. Andrew Rogers usually comments on the reserves as well. Also get something a bit different each week from Tom Couch on the website and of course CD always keeps us updated on here which is much appreciated. The teams are always sent out Thursday arvo as well.

As far as online communication goes, the Eagles do it well.

Port get a weekly e-newsletter which gives a preview of the next weeks game, detailed results from the week before including a match report of the U17s and U19s, a weekly CEO report reviewing the league match and detailing any events coming up and some advertising. There are 3 Magpies News magazines you recieve in the post each year as well as the end of year Annual Report.

I think Maggies fans get looked after pretty well. Website is A grade as well.

We also get a "chat" from a player after each game or leading into a game, can't remember what it's called exactly, so basically as an example there will be a pic of Andrew Whiteman directly after the game, probably in the change rooms, he'll breifly do a run down of the game, score and next weeks game.

As mentioned we send out 3 emails each week plus have the weekly article on the web from Tom Couch.

We have our hard copy newsletter 3 times a year plus the annual report posted.

We use SMS to inform of coming events plus plenty of posters around the club
(including info boards above the urinal - something to read while standing there!!!!)

a "shout" from the club, but what I did notice that we were certainly getting them while we were winning but when we had the patch where we lost a couple we didnt get any, understandable maybe

What sort of communication do you need? And what do you mean "not question anything"?

I can find out anything I want by walking into the club and asking. I'm really at a loss what more you want from the club.

What a fatuous comment. Did you actually read what the other clubs provided their members?

At least you've dropped the line about us being the form team of the competition.

I want some feedback and comments from our "coach". I want to know the truth behind the non-selection of Rob deJongh. I want to know the real reason behind no player presentations last week. By "not question anything" I mean if you ask a straight question you wont get a straight answer. Dont dare criticize, be part of the flock and accept things. Trust me, I know the answers to the questions I've asked, and not from walking into the club and asking. By talking to players and their parents, partners, wives and friends at after match presentations and by attending training as often as I can, usually twice a month. The few times I have actually asked T. Hill a question straight out I get a mumbled reply, and Mark Ross just says "give us time, be patient" . I doubt you have walked off the street and asked a question and received an answer, I'd be interested in what that question was and what the answer was.
