What is wrong with jimmy, during the year i have noticed he has come off the ground on a number of occassions holding his neck/shoulder area and in obvioius pain.

Does any one know what the exact problem is and if he will last out the year ????????????????????????

The problem is years old and is related to a nerve in his shoulder. It causes pain for a few minutes when it is triggered and then he is fine again.

I want to say that it's a spine issue, in that he doesn't have one, but I actually quite like* the Gowans boys...

I thought Chris Gowans was good value last night on 5AA's SANFL show too...had a bit of a dig at Dogs fans for dropping off, and him and Mouse appeared to have rekindled their love affair after some enjoyable push and shove from Satdee's game.

So can we rename this thread 'Gowans Pain in Neck'?

When he has an occasional pain in his shoulder? That just makes no sense at all.

It's the chip on his shoulder coming loose.

Yes that was good banter, what footy's all about. And his line about how tough they're doing it out at Lisbef with their facilities and how lucky the Bays were to be swimming down at the Bay with all the good looking girls in Bikkinis???? Does he know what time of year it is? The weather's pretty bad in Victoria but not that bad to make the weather we're having at the moment look good.

Speaking of injuries to Doggies players...

Read with dissapointment this morning that Daniel Havelberg will be sidelined for the next 4 months after having surgery on ankle ligamnet damage sustained in the loss to Sturt a couple of weeks ago after getting his foot trapped and twisted in a bone crucnching tackle by big bad bustling Brant Chanmbers.

Another big blow to the key positional options for Centrals and Daniel's versatility will be sorely missed, especially come finals times. In saying that, we still have Daniel Schell to come back into the line up so he will fill the CHB role that Hav was playing so well in recent weeks. We also showed against much taller and stronger opposition with the Bays big forwards on Saturday night that some of our mid range players, Trent Goodrem in particular, can step up and play on a bigger opponent and still perform.

Good luck with the rehab Hav, look forward to seeing him back in action for season 2009.

Shut up Tassie, that thread is long gone, dead and buried...

I have changed it now...

I quickly posted that this morning when I was having a coffee and realised that I had about 2 minutes of battery life left in the laptop and still had to check my emails as well... :?

Leave me alone, go and pick on someone else :D

Wow, do laptops now speak to humans and advise them on how much time they will remain on until the battery runs out?

Yes MR Smarty Pants, they do

You hold your cursor over the little battery icon and it will say... 95% battery usage, 2 minutes remaining

Anyway, back on to the topic at hand, the reason that James Gowans has an issue with the shoulder and neck is beacause of the weight he has to carry on it with 6 premiership medallions, Jack Oatey Medal, Norm Russell Medal and Bob Quinn Medal. Fair bit of heaviness in all those medals that dangle around his neck, hence the reason for the pain

No problem with his neck. Shoulder only.

Well then his shoulder is sore from carrying all those medals isn't it Smac

I know he had nerve damage, like you say, he's been carrying it for a while now... :(

Might be a pain in the neck, arse or shoulder as other supporters say but he and his brother are lifelong legends of CDFC :D

Maybe James is a bit sore in the upper region from having to carry his team-mates for the best part of the past decade?

Carry?
You don't win six flags in eight years on the shoulders of one, or in this case two, players.
