Bloody brilliant. To be down by 34 pts in the 2nd Qtr and fight back like that.... Very, very impressive

Wooopeeedoooo, who gives a sh!t whether the goals come from young or old, the bottom line is you lost!!
Peter Burgoyne was a disgrace once again, if i were Port i'd put him in the Bs next week coz theirs no way he'll play for the Power.

Johncock just about BOG. Kicked 3 goals to go with 20 odd possessions. Burgoyne started out embarrassingly, eventually lifted and got involved but a lot of cheap, meaningless touches. Nothing out of the ordinary.
For Norwood Walker was great, Phillips and Duigan also very good and Kite and Speight did some great things.

Young enought to play under 18's this year which means they were 17 on January 1, 2008.
Walker and kite have since turned 18, speight I cant be stuffed looking up his actual date of birth to work out if he is curently 17 or 18.

We can't complain about AFL blokes. Johncock was huge but Merciless is right about Burgoyne. They cancelled each other out IMO. Norwood STILL don't have the killer instinct. How many winnable matches have we dropped this year?

Sounded like a great game on the radio and a good day for the SANFL but Norwood simply has to start winning this sort of fixture.

REB

I thought Johncock was great, Burgoyne was terrible. Jeremy Clayton did some inspirationial things that resulted in Port goals.
Norwood were not good enough.

I think the Crows have made a good investment in getting Aaron Kite, he seems to be on the improve slowly but surely!

What did everyone else think of the match? Personally I thought it was a ripper and a very enjoyable game. Pity about the result and I hate losing to Port but it was a pretty high quality affair, much better than some of the boring games that have been played recently.

Kite is a quality young player and his development has been very surprising. He played well again today and even kicked his first goal.

Port showed alot of character after qtr time trailing by 6 goals, No doubt the 3rd qrt won it for Port kicking into a stiff breeze.
Burgoyne was once again very poor, i don't know why he can't dominate that league like he should, he has pace & flair but doesn't look like he wants to be out their.
Walker was very good for Norwood & give Lokan a bath, this bloke has height, strength, agility & isn't slow yet can't get a game with the Crows, i don't know what more he needs to do.
Last of all the umpires, what a disgraceful effort today, they were absolutely pathetic for both sides, one in particular "Joyce" had no idea & he certainly looked to be favouring his childhood team.
He would of been shattered they lost!

Have to agree Burgoyne was a waste of space out there today. Stiffy good but his disposal was crap in the first half

May I suggest that his problem is that at SANFL level you have to work hard to get a kick. AFL football currently allows some player to be very lazy and very uncotested but still get a lot of the ball. The SANFL eats up these guys.

Luke Jericho is a great example of this. Soft kicks at AFL level, lazy at SANFL level and a disgrace to the proud Norwood Guernsey my soft selectors let him wear.
