bookies say north to miss & port to make the finals !!!!!!!!

Postby bayman » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:58 pm

i just had a look at (our sponsors) sportsbets premiership market & their market says that north will miss & port will make it (i'm inclined to agree with them although i can see norwood missing as well especially if they lost this week)

glenelg $2.50
sturt $2.50
cent $5.00
PORT $13.00
norwd $17.00
NORTH $21.00
eagles $31.00

start discussing folks !!!
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

If/when port make the finals they will have available ....Surjan, Maric, Wilson, and probably Burgoyne and Johncock  . So much for not relying on AFL players

Serious question: are the AFL clubs obliged to make eligible players available for the finals? Thinking in particular of someone like Maric, who hasn't played for the Maggies since early May, would probably be viewed as a first-22 Crow nowadays and may just want to join in mad Monday and finish the season with the rest of the lads.

Thats probably true, Port and the crows may elect to hold their players back as they have done in the past like Westoff last year and Perrie in North finals campaigns.

If the Cows are out early though and Maric has a choice between mad monday/sunday or whenever it all kicks off and playing a final, what do you think he'd rather pick?

I'd be playing footy.

Maybe that's the thing which is typically obscured by a well-placed fig leaf

sportsbet's premiership odds (1/9/08)

sturt evens
glenelg 2/1
central 11/4
port 14/1
wwt 20/1
norwd 20/1

i'd suggest mickyj that you'd get better odds going all up everyweek if indeed they went top
