EAGLES’ CHRIS HALL WINS ROUND 17

COCA-COLA STAR SEARCH AWARD NOMINATION

Chris Hall from the Woodville-West Torrens Football Club has been named the Round Seventeen Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee.

In just his third League match, Hall was a lively forward in the Eagles’ 37 point win over West Adelaide at Thebarton Oval on the weekend.

Following his return from the NAB AFL Under 18 National Championships, Hall has continued his consistent performance as a zippy forward for the Eagles. His ability to read the play and find the right positions around the ground has given the Eagles’ forward structure great diversity. As a small forward pocket player, Hall’s size and speed allows him to gather touches of the ball from beneath the packs.

Hall has progressed through Eagles’ underage and Reserves teams after playing with the Flinders Park Football Club and St Michael’s’ College. Hall made his League debut in Round 6 this season against Sturt.

Hall is the Eagles’ fourth Coca-Cola Star Search nominee for season 2008.

That was an impressive display for a player of any amount of experience at that role.

Well done to young Chris he certainly taught Jeremy Rowe a lesson on the weekend  . He looks to have a real future for the eagles as his size may keep him from the AFL. But lets hope not for his sake.

Well done to young Chris. I've seen him play a few times this year and for an undersized kid, he does very well against the bigger bodied opponents and he seems to use te footy well.

ME, as Wedgie pointed out with the post from the SANFL media release (extract below) he is the Eagles 4th nomination in '08 along with Travis Lane, Matthew Broadbent and Jarrad Petrenko.

That's an impressive effort to have 4 already this season and proves that Ronnie Fuller does have a good knack at picking out talented juniors. A bit like West Adelaide, it's a shame he will probably lose most of them to the AFL but that's great for the young kids.

Well done once again to Chris, good luck in the future. BTW, is he any relation to former League full back, now coach of Henley, Stephen Hall ?
