I have added up all the games each team has played and it looks like it will be a 2 horse race between Port and Norwood, there is only about 20 to 30 games between the two and Port is 121 games short of 2000 games played and Norwood is about 140-150 games short. But who will get to the 2000 game mark first. My money is on Port at this stage in about 2012.

Given that the only way Norwood could rack up games that caught up with Port would be if Norwood was in the finals and Port not, I can't see how Norwood could catch up.

Maximum possible final games in a season would be 4 - ie finish 4 or 5 and make GF. With 6 seasons to go (121/6 = about 20 games season) that means that Norwood could feasibly catch up 24 games. Not likely that Nowood will finish 4 or 5 and Port out of the finals for the next 5 or 6 seasons.

Am wondering why I am discussing this!

So we're counting Port Adelaide & Port Magpies as one? Are you counting Woodville-Torrens as one?, What about the combined teams during the war?
