Unfortunately not 1 Centrals player is the squad which is probably highlighted by the fact that our Under 17's are languishing at the bottom of the ladder with only 1 win, and haver struggled in recent years. Hopefully we will start to see the fruition of the Robert Zarella U/15 academy in the coming seasons though...

I gues in saying that though, it is somewhat suprising with the recent success of our Under 15 metro boys, who play Norwood in the State Championship Grand Final on Sunday before the Port v Fre game. I'm sure Smac would agree, there are probably a couple of lads unlucky to not be at least in the squad for the state team.

Good luck to the boys selected though, hope they all have bigger and better things ahead of them...

I saw young Scotty Lycett play when I watched a Blues/Thevenard game at Smoky Bay in 2006. Going by the size of him then to the weight he is now he must have beefed up quite a bit.

Good luck to everyone that got selected. Hope you do well.

Normally that logic would be reasonably sound Phil but apparently the selectors have thrown logic out of the window in picking this years State U16 side.

Here's me thinking Sturt would have a solid representation in the team given our U17 side is undefeated for the season and 6 games clear on top of the ladder?

Sturt's total representatives = 0

Perplexed would be an understatement!

I am very surprised that Jimmy Savage from Norwood didn't get a jumper, especially as that team appears to lack genuine KPP

Mind you 11 players in that team I have no idea who they are even though I have probably watched them play.

Is Hay from North any relation to Steve who played for them in the late 80's?

Because it's an under-16 side, not an under-17 side? If half of your dominant U/17 side were underage (15/16), then sure. But I'm guessing that's not the case. If your U/17s in 2009 are undefeated top, then you'll have something to complain about!

Well done to young Tim Milera in making the side. Played juniors at Portland, and is a great little player.

The sky is the limit for this young bloke.

Felch, i agree its great to see Timmy Milera in there and i think he will go well, he has alot of talent and is very skilled especially around goal.

The one to watch out for is Jamie Solly, when he is on, he is very good. Tall marking forward kicks the ball well and moves beautifully.

Interesting that Henley High have provided rep's from 3 different clubs ... I'd heard they have a pretty good sport program down there.

The Facts: (1) Half of the SFC U17 side ARE underage (15/16) and (2) are undefeated and (3)were not represented in the State U16 side in 2008.

Not sure but Tiller is the son of David Tiller.

Good to see Henley High has 3 in the squad.

No obvious sturt player missed selection, a couple who could argue they could be in the team .

Interestingly sturt had a lot of players in last years under 16 squad.

Callum Hay. Ex Walkerville junior.

The Hays are a terrific sporting family and are great people.

Used to play the now extinct game of electric Light cricket with Callum and his 2 bros when he was 12-14. Absolutely ate, drank and breathed footy!

Callam Hay can really play, if he knuckles down over the next 2 years and does the right things I would be surprised if he does not end up on an AFL list

Others that I am surprised did not make the team are Helbig (west adelaide) and Pelle (south adelaide)

The one from sturt who was probably the closest would be Marshall
