trev hill would be furious after having played so well the last few weeks and to start the way they did, just devastating to lose that game.

Great quarter of football today. First half was once again a disgrace, 3rd was pretty even, but that last was simply amazing. We have never played that way all year,so i think things could start rolling our way. Hopefully.
I would just like to say that SOME norwood supporters are an absolute disgrace. They dont care where they are or who is around them. Some of their language was just terrible. They honestly have no idea about umpiring (i know all supporters have a go at the umps....but) they would not look at both sides getting frees.Dogs supporters cop alot but these blokes really took the cake today, it is probably the worse i have ever heard out of all the grounds, and i was in the family area.
I must say they were very quiet in the last quarter :D :D :D :D

Well it's good to know James Gowans did something other than give away free kicks and argue with umpires. I've finally lost all respect for Gowans, he's an idiot.

I hope that when they got into the rooms, every Central player went to Callinan and thanked him for the win. Without Callinan they would have been rolled by 10 goals. I've never seen a team with so many passengers win a game of footy.

How unlucky are Norwood? He kicks 5 against us in round 3 and then gets injured. Has a warm up last week and clicks into gear again this week .. against Norwood!! Everyone gets a crack at them without Callinan except us ... not happy.

And I hate to say "I told you so", but anyone who thinks Taylor Walker is ready for AFL footy just needed to take a look at today's game. Yes, he got 4 goals, but that was it. He has a lonnnng way to go before he's ready for a higher level.

Jimmy's comment of a "choke" is pretty close to the mark. For some unknown reason, Norwood got the first goal of the final term to take a 6 goal lead, and then appeared to think that was enough and tried to save the game rather than kick away. We have a tendency to do this, but we aren't good enough to make that tactic pay.

just listening to scores coming through, did norwood throw it away by poor kicking early or did central raise the bar in the last term ? & did norwood failed to match it to a degree ?

It was Gowans who snapped the ball to Callinan. They are both CHAMPIONS of the SANFL
Legs rolled over when the pressure was on. They had no pressure for 3 quarters but had no idea what to do in the last.

Quite astonshing. Centrals obviously lifted in the last quarter but where did Norwood go?

A bitter pill to swallow when you control a game for three quarters and only poor kicking for goal has kept the door slightly ajar.

Not sure if it was a fitness issue but the running in numbers stopped and I got the impression they were happy to sit on the lead. Will be interested in Leg's supporters opinions.

For the Dogs, Griffin got his hand on the ball & the likes of Slade, O'Sullivan & Gowans started to win the clearances. Hayes provided a leading target & Lawry played further up the ground and was used to launch a few attacks. Sponge got better as the day wore on and was important in the comeback but the last quarter efforts of O'Hara & Hadden were something for Dogs supporters to get excited about.

And to think I almost had them written off late in the 3rd Quarter....

As for Norwood, what a disgraceful collapse.

The belief levels of each team was the deciding factor IMHO ... Norwood definitely put the shutters up too early, and even after they lost the lead had the final 2 kicks on goal to win the game ... In the grand scheme of things Im strangely not upset with my boys because for the first time in a coupla years, they ha ve shown some genuine improvement in play, as opposed to pinching the odd decent win here and there ... There's certainly a foundation for our mostly young team to work with.

Dogs01, Im going to agree and disagree with you, there certainly were some poor Norwood supporters there today, and if any of those are reading this, all I can say is - If you're going to give it out when things are going your way, don't arc up when they're not and you're getting it back!

On the flipside, I saw some pretty average Dogs fans who let rip from the reserves game til the end of the league game with some language and eagerness to blue, that would have made a Yatala warden blush! Both teams supporters that fit these categories need to have a bit of a look in the mirror.

To the other 7 clubs - Centrals best is still clearly in front of them, and I have a feeling that todays gutsy win might just have got the ball rolling for them.

I suspect that too. Thanks Norwood. Dogs get out of jail in the last minute, 2 weeks in a row...Will they lose another game this year?

A GREAT day at Norwood today, primed up at The Bath Hotel first, then on to 'Da Footy! I had a vision toward the end of the first quarter, everything was going pear-shaped but, for some strange reason, I thought that the game was in the bag & we would hit the front at the 20 minute mark of the last quarter & hang on to win! Great to meet Constance & Topsy & put a face to a name-nothing wrong with grey hair Topsy! SANFL-'Ya gotta love it!! :D

Gowans? You have to be kidding. Obviously they just throw the same old names in the best player list without a lot of thought.

Don't be precious Hawk. The word SOME was pretty crucial to his comment. If you argue with that then all is lost.

Just having a look at Norwoods last half and in particular last qtr efforts this season... and they have been attrocious. 6 times they've only scored 1 or 2 goals for the last qtr... and 4ish times for the last half. Those last qtr fades are going to hurt them (obviously). They've been over run too many times now.

What is it?? fitness?? lack of confidence? defensive mindset?
