While I think the Bays will go on to record win number 13 in a row, let's not forget that the Panthers are the only side in season '08 that have come up with the winning forma to take home the points. Yes, it was in round 1, new faces in the side, still getting use to new gameplans etc, but South would take a little bit of confidence out of the fact they are the only side in the comp to beat Mark Mickan's men. Not bad really...

We say stranger things on footy have happened, but if Glenelg play the way they did against Westies in the first half, although it sounds like South were average today, anything can happen and maybe Glenelg will have the "loss they were due for" that some people predict is only a matter aof time. All that said, I would think Glenelg will win by around 6 or 7 goals. Does anyone know what the current winning streak record for the Tigers is, are they closing in on it with 12 in a row now ???

I hate to say it but we have buckleys chance of getting a win! I am hoping we can be reasonably competetive and have a good dip!
This game, along with the rest of the season is all about getting some league games under the belt of our young side, and finding out what senior players to go with in 2009!
There is no doubt we have some good young players, they just need a couple more good senior players around them! :(

Fact remains that South are the "only" SANFL side to have beaten Glenelg this year. 8)

Can we do it again this week - why the hell not, we have nothing to lose if players get injured in throwing themselves into contests to try and lift our intensity and I have a suspicion that we as a club have approached that point now that the finals are pretty much out of the question!

our most minor round wins in the one season is 13 from r9 to r21 in 1973, as bayman said our record for the most wins in a row is 18 betwwn r9 1973 to round 3 1974

I'm a bit disappointed in this thread, that's what we get for keeping it on topic, I guess.

Anyway, I think the weather will play a big part in the game on Saturday. And there will be a fair chance that the oval will be heavy and muddy, especially after having the U15's comp there for a full day this week as well.

The Bays should still come away with a win, but it will come down to who is prepared to get dirty and go and get the hard* ball. Will Byron Murphy be making a comeback this week?
