Round 16: North vs Eagles Preview

Postby spell_check » Sun Jul 13, 2008 1:50 am

Rather than repeat the scenarios that mickyj and myself hypothesized, the bottom line is - who will turn up to play?

Hopefully North and the Eagles. Could be red faces all round for the extra club that was to turn up and hope for a game. (Unless there was a typo on the programme for the week, then it could almost me forgiven)

My team:

FF: Klun Passador Geddes
HF: Petrenko Grocke Salter
C: Jarrad McKenzie Broadbent
HB: P Stewart McGregor Fiacchi
FB: Daniel Hier Powell
R: Dabrowski Treeby Wright
I: Cicolella Corbett Fitzgerald

Ins: Grocke, Broadbent, P Stewart, Cicolella
Outs: Schwarze, Roberts, Rimington (susp), Hentschel (inj)

McGregor or Grocke to have stints in the ruck to rest Dabrowski. Petrenko used in an attacking role from the start of the game and also run through the midfield.

Anyway, whatever the team is, this is the last chance to keep the season alive.

Yes Aerie , i like your team for the trip to the KFC this week , although i think its wise if we squeezed in Schwarz as he can be so handy in the advent of injuries or poor form during the match . Gentlemen , if Grocke isnt picked this week Fuller & Rogers should have their nuts cut off ! Its basically an elimination final , interestingly though the two coaches are at very similar stages in their seasons & careers with their respective clubs ( delicious irony ) . Both seem to have a major problem in getting the players to responed after many years of listening & both have a large portion of fans calling for a change at the end of the season . The loser on Saturday would have to seemingly produce a minor miracle to retain their jobs in 09 . Yes Ron does have a flag , but has been going for alot longer than Jarhead , & also has 1 more year of contract if he desires ; but you know what you can do with paper if you have stomach pains !So its winner takes all for me & no excuses in the paper on Sunday please gentlemen ! !

Have to start Cicca, even in a FP for something diff, he'll never be beaten in 1 on 1 or at ground level, if he starts on bench he may as well play 2s. Fitzy must start on too.

I'll say who should definitely be in, Grocke for starters, but I feel we need pace, that's a must against North. A couple of things to consider is if Stewart and McGregor are called up.

That is 1 problem Spelly .
The second problem being the ball in the forward line.
Perhaps Pretenko needs to play in the midfield ?
Do Daveron and Hall come straight in with Broadbent ?
Do they bring up a Jolly for the Forward line ?

Makes it interesting if Kenny Mac or Gill get recalled !!

Oh you need not worry with having seen poor old Kenny Mcgregor limping around , hes like that every week . Its sore knees & elbows you see , from endlessly grovelling around behind Craig Neil at West Lakes each day , pleading for a recall ! Professor Craig is sooooooo smart his next trick will be to re-invent the wheel . And who amongst us will ever forget when he had Norwood running around in those lycra ( lingerie ) jumpers many moons ago . Yeh sign Craig for another 5 years Colonel Bill Sanders , we could use the laughs ! !

If McGregor doesn't play, then it frees up one tall option. If the weather is not good, you can't just go in with all talls.
