That seems as good a report as I could make Macca. Sounded like a great last quarter, with the wind and a little bit of determination that we have been missing helping us home. Picked the wrong week to stay home and study as I got nothing done for the last hour or so!

Sounded like Cowan is starting to find a little bit of form, in full flight he is great to watch so am looking forward to next week now.

Listened to this game today.

Sounded like a pretty tight affair. Got to say that I thought Big Phil did a pretty good job on his radio debut. Weel done Phil, fitted into the Life FM team pretty good.

Now don't let it go to your head mate

Hi all,

Did anyone else at the game see the sights in the new (corporate) facility today?????? The dogs have been struggling for the last month but i think we have found our new good luck charm! It was a step up from the streaker in the round 1 clash!

Good hard game of footy i thought with the dogs lacking a key forward for most of the day after Schelly got injured. That really hurt us, with no back up ruckman in the 21 either. Thought Thomas was supreme today, who along with buckets were my best 2. As much as i hate to say it, Jeremy Clayton was a gun for port all day and at times he was a class above most of the players out there. I think this might be a win which jump starts our season again after a lacklustre month but who knows, some of the dogs skills were once again terrible at times so we may have been just lucky. The way we're playing, i'm just happy for the win and the 2 points.

Ciao

I would have thought the way North are performing lately, Port losing today was a better result for Norwood

Thanks johntheclaret

I appreciate that mate, it was good fun, I really enjoyed it. Apart from a slightly nervous start, I thought I got better as I went along. The only thing I struggled with was having to wear my "neutral supporter" hat and not get too carried away when Centrals took the lead late and held on for the win, Oh yeah, and that bloody strong wind, it was blowing a fair bit into my microphone making it difficult at times to cross down to me but we got through it pretty much unscathed I thought :?

Other than that, I thought the whole LifeFM crew had a great call of a really tough, solid game of footy in pretty blustery, trying conditions. Phil Herden, John Nankerville and Chris Kendall are top blokes and were really great to work with and I especially enjoyed being able to sit up in the commentary box with the guys after the final siren, getting involved in general SANFL chit chat. :D

BTW, I'm not going to let it get to my head mate, not just yet anyway

I heard a bit on the way home too BP and I thought you did a grand job, keep up the greart work, I think you're onto a winning team in LifeFAM as Phil, JN, CK, etc are easily the best SANFL team going around. :D

What a great game of footy by two committed sides, hard physical bone crushing clash not for the faint hearted a few bleeders came off for both sides to their credit got bandaged or stitched up and back out and hard at it THIS IS REAL FOOTBALL not that boring fast running non contact CRAP called AFL.

Credit to both side for a gutsy performance, Maggies unlucky to win.

Great effort by Doggies to come back when 4 goals down at qtr time and also with an injury to Schelly halfway thru the 1st qtr, however he played in the 2nd qtr with a limp and did not play on after half time.

BOG J clayton what a great player

Well done by both clubs .

Its a shame more footy fans do not come out and watch REAL FOOTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those that are curious as to what EasyE is going on about, as some of you may be aware, these 2 sides met in Round 1 and interestingly, there was a male streaker (1 armed, backpack on and jocks only) but this time round, someone (no doubt a group of extremely intoxicated undesirables I would say) have managed to get themselves a gig in the new corporate box at Hamra Homes Oval, right next to the coaches box. The events that I've been told have "undressed" I mean unfolded today, certainly do take the "cleavage", I mean cake.

Well this afternoon, a young lady who was also in the corporate facility, decided to expose her breasts (fake ones, implants I've been told) out of the window and down to the crowd and players alike (for those who may have happened to glimpse in the 2 boxes general direction). I was very unfortunate not to have witnessed this "titillating" event this afternoon as I was too busy down on the boundary line with my microphone, helping LifeFM with their radio coverage of the game.

Although somewhat amusing (and again disappointing I didn't see them myself) it's a shame that it happened because as it may look like a bad reflection on the club, when in fact it was the individual group who were responsible for the incident in question. Unfortunately there were kids and young families that may been "exposed" to to it. I guess though, on top of being a "nippy" day, some people would have gone home with pretty "fondle mammaries", I mean fond memories of the days events !!

Thought Port did themselves a disservice in the second quarter by playing too negatively. The dogs made a concerted effort to run and play on and attack into the breeze in the first quarter, but Port didn't do the same in the second. In the end they were unable to switch between attacking and defensive football and I thought they lost the game there. Dogs went into the game with one less tall with Thomas replacing Griffin from last week, and losing Schell after 10 minutes meant at times Richard Cochrane played basically as a centre half forward! Dogs skills were poor but the run was great. And good to see Cowan and McCabe play well in the last. Both need some confidence, and while McCabe didn't nail his chances to kick goals at least he won some important ball.

After the loss of Schell all the big guys stood up. McKenzie, Havelberg, Lawry and Sibenaler were great. Cowan showed glimpses early before having a superb last quarter and Hayes worked hard all day. Hopefully Schell isn't lost for long if at all, and in the meantime someone comes up and does the job. Most important we keep getting the wins right now. Winning will breed confidence, and hopefully with some confidence the skills follow. If we get our skills and work-rate to a reasonable point I see no reason why we don't have to talent to match the front runners and perhaps our experience can be the telling factor when it really matters.
