Former Dogs star needs a helping hand for sick daughter

Over on another thread earlier tonight, a few names of the past were brought up when talking of a few finals campaigns from the late 80's and mid 90's between Norwood and Centrals involving a few dust ups. One player in particular, Robert "Chopper" Handley was mentioned and after hearing of some sad news for Chopper, I though I would do whatever I can to help Robert and his family out in what will no doubt be a very tough time.
With the advise of a few people on other various topics, I thought I would start up this post to help out the former Bulldog champion with the sad news of his sick daughter. The ex Hawthorn star and one of my favourite all time Doggies players, has some terrible news in that, sadly, his young daughter Louisa has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and they have to travel quite regularly back and forth from a Sydney hospital for her specialised treatment.
Obviously that would be a big financial strain on Robert and his family so the CDFC web site (and constable Handley's employer, the Holden Hill police station) have organised a movie night and set up an account for any donations to help raise funds and support the Handley family in this difficult time, made even more difficult, no doubt, with the tough financial burdens on most Aussie families already with interest rates, morgages, rising fuel costs and general strians on families these days, it must be tough.
Doggies supporters, and anyone for that matter, who want to help out should get on board and either head to the movie night to help raise funds or assist by making a donation of any size. I know I'll be making a donation next week as soon as I get paid again and am glad to help out a former Doggies champ in a trying time for Louisa and the Handley family.
As with the terrible news of Michael Parsons, it's sad when anyone in society is diagnosed with shocking illness and just as sad when we hear of it happening to local footy identities and their immediate families. I think it's important that if people can help out the Handley's, even as little as a $10 donation, it will alll add up and no doubt, be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Guys,
Big Phil...
