post your thoughts here guys. should be a good match for both teams clinging to a finals berth this year

Norwood by 5 at least, North are a rabble at the minute and although they have won a heap uin a row at the Parade, Norwood will be more desperate for a win to get a consolidated spot in the 5, too many huge problems out North and although I said 5 wouldnt not be at all suprised if this is a huge blow out

All depends which North side is selected, then which one turns up to play.

Pick the best 21 and North are a real chance, stick with Jarmans pets and they probably wont win.

In many ways the same could also be said for the Legs! Injuries and AFL players mean the club often has to make 3-6 changes each week and some days the team come out switched on whereas others, the switch is not pushed to "go".

5th, and just because 4+ teams are terrible this year it doesn't mean North are half decent.

This game deserves game of the round status...it really could go either way.

If the Norwood forwards get on top, I don't think the North backline can keep up with them.

Putting my ghoulies on the line here, but I think Norwood by nothing more than 10 points.

I'm still not convinced about Norwood, yes, they are winning games, but winning them ugly and not soemwould say, maybe a litte lucky to be in the 5. I think they are too up and down and they proved what they are capable of against North out at Prospect last time the sides met but then they showed how bad they can be with that debacle under lights against the Tigers kicking 1.4 for the match.

I reckon North are a better side than how they are currently playing and although Norwood might look the better side on paper, I think the Roosters will get up in this one by about 4 or 5 goals. Norwood maybe a bit too reliant on AFL listed players and to a degree so are North with Lonie and White but I just think North will be fired up and be keen to return the favour for their home loss last time round.

BTW... This isn't a bias opinion TigerBoss, but I reckon there is a pretty big game out at Elizabeth the same day as this clash mate. I think the Dogs v Port might just take game of the round honours over North v Norwood. Both games should be beauties though.

You're an optimist, Big Phil. It was 1.3 (notable because in the reverse debacle at Norwood in 2004, Glenelg kicked 1.4).

Would be hard to like Norwood in this one unless we can step up from our last 2 weeks' performance (unimpressive wins against the 2 worst sides in the comp). At this stage of the year, we've played 4 games against top 3 sides for 3 absolute canings plus one fairly narrow loss; so still a fair way off the pacesetters despite now being 4th. Plus with Jericho/Lower/Massie/Thomas/Cockshell (and soon to be Walker!) issues, yes we do have too much inherent instability in team selection from week to week. Not that you'd offload those players to another SANFL club to make yourself more stable.

I'd pretty much agree with that. A massive game for both clubs. Going to 5-8 would put Port's backs against the wall for making the 5 (and if they lose by more than 5 goals or so, would also drop them back to 7th behind the Eags), where a win would not only put them ready to pounce on the 5 (or in it if North lost), but also make them one of the form teams in the comp on 4 wins in a row. A win for Centrals would more or less shut the door on the top 3, whereas a loss would leave it open for others.

Still: very happy that Norwood get a rare TV appearance!

I think Norwood, on their day, can be good enough to beat North, as proven and mentioned previously, but I just think North have a bit more to play for than what the Redlegs do. I wouldn't be suprised if Norwood got up but I think we will see a tough battle and a Rooster win, just. Reckon the key will be shutting down the key forwards for Norwood, who are in a bit of form, in particualar Cokshell and Tex Walker. North seem to have a stronger midfield so if they can get the ball down to Alleway, Stewart and Younie enough and he can kick straight, they should win.

Port will be tough this week for the Dogs, but I think we are slowly returning to form with a few down players finding touch against Westies. The last time we played them, at Alberton, Dan Havelberg kicked 9 on Corey AhChee, but this time we might see the roles reversed with Havelberg likely to line up in defence duw to Schelly kicking goals up forward. I think we may need Schelly in defence though to combat Hargraves, Waterhouse and maybe AhChee up there so the Dogs might have a bit of a fight on their hands in terms of goal scoring prowess. This then means heath Lawry and Luke Cowan need to have big games. We'll have to wait and see, I'll stick by my tip of Centrals at home by 18 points.

Anyway, sorry I got this thread off track, I'll get it back on by asking if Redlegs fans know how Jamie Vlatko is going with his hammy issue ? With Cockshell and Walker in form if they get well held, Vlatko would be able to bob up and kick 5 or 6 maybe ? Alot might also depend on what movements there are to both sides with AFL selections. If Vlatko plays, Norwood are more of a chance, if not, North by 4 or 5 goal like I say.

If Norwood can get Vladtko back into their forward line, they are a huge chance. Redleg fans will also be hoping that the power don't pick Cockshell, as he is in career best form at the moment and probably deserves an AFL game. I wonder who will match up on Alleway....he is a great CHF.

Will be an interesting week at the selection table, certainly for Norwood and also down at Prospect I'd imagine.

I'd think the Power would be very likely to take Cockshell this weekend, and Leg's fans will be hoping Stuey Bown has receovered from his flu, because we'll need him to run with Alleway - Bowny's a class act IMHO, so if he doesn't suit up I'd be concerned about how much (more)damage Alleway is likely to cause.

No argument from me...they are BOTH pretty important clashes to the make-up of the final 5 and what-not.

It's nice change not to have get PM's from moderators anymore for me firing up and telling people they are DH's... It's great we can all get along, until something else bugs me and I fire up again !!!

Alleway always hurts us, if we can keep him quiet...get a good start and keep the pressure on we will win....quietly confident but should be a tough contest.
