Just hoping the Bays turn up with the right attitude. If switched on, I'd expect them to give the Bloods a hiding, but if my memory serves me correctly, the Bloods have really dished it up to us for a half or more in our past few outings...

Would be good to see Macca bob up with a handy 6 or so

With the right attitude we should win the Easily, a switched on Bays by 90.

The thing is we don't smash sides. We aren't that flashy - workman like as both Jars and Mickan have described us in tomorrows fish n chip wrapping. Will be happy with a win like yesterday's.

A switched on Glenelg side would win by 20-25 goals. :butthead:
11 switched on players means the bays will win by 10 goals.
Don't turn up to play and westies may sneak a win. :o [-o<
I really can't see us keeping this one under 100 points nor the next week against the double blues.

Glenelg dont what? maybe not against some... but ask Doggie, Norwood or South supporters if last time they met Glenelg if they had felt "smashed"?????

Glenelg 16.10 to South 5.8

Glenelg 13.15 to Norwood 1.3 (NEED I SAY ANYMORE?????)

and the game was well over early v the dogs due to a first quarter smashing...... 7.5 to 1.2.

and in my opinion their 12.7 to 4.6 last weekend after half time was a pretty brutal "crunch".....

Glenelg certainly have the ability to SMASH.... not just grind.

:? Lucky your players don't think like that.

I know the dogs players didn't think it was over at that stage and as a supporter I certainly didn't.

Agree about the SMASHING of Norwood and South Joelie but if you ask me, a great opening term, as mentioned above, a flat second term, a scrappy 3rd term and being outscored in the last, doesn't really constitute a smashing in my language. Granted, you guys won the game of footy against us, setting it up with a dominant 1st term, but you certainly didn't SMASH us, as you put it...

Cast your mind back to Adelaide Oval in 2006 (which I'm sure many Bays fans haven't forgotton) and a 95 point belting from your mob was one of the biggest footballing lessons we probably have had in 10 years and certainly constitutes SMASHING a side. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but after being up by as much as 53 points in the 3rd term, the recent game at Elizabeth saw your mob hold off our last quarter comeback to win by just over 3 goals, 21 points IIRC.

Sorry mate, IMO, you got that particualr part of a farily valid point slightly wrong...

But was the game not won due to that first qtr briliance?? Im not saying they did not have to continue on... there certainly was a long way to go... but the foundations were laid. The game was basically set up due to that one qtr of very very good quality football was it not?.

when it got back to 15 pts in the last 1/4 after the woofers had come from around 8-9 goals down, the chant had started up, the momentum was well and truly with the doggies

only until mouse kicked that lovely running goal was the game sealed

Cheers Phil,

and that would be the very reason I did not refer to qtrs 2,3 and 4 of the sides recent outing... as it went from very good... to hanging on for dear life near the end. Im not saying Glenelg are insurmountable... or past the post in any match... all I was trying to say is that at times we do have the ability to turn on quality attacking football.
