Sounds like a walk in the park for Glenelg today. Didn't hear much about McConnell, he seemed quiet.

Sounds like a good solid win for the Bays in a danger game after the high of last week, shows the maturity of the players.
North would be very disappointed. Huge game for them next week. Norwood could just about sew up a spot in the five and leave Port and North fighting it out for fifth.

I have never experienced a game where North just gave up. We have been hammered before, but at least we gave it a shot, but today in the last 10 minutes we just decided that was that and stopped running. Shameful North. You had a real chance and just gave up.
Crazy thing is, we could have won this. So what went wrong. IMHO, North gave this to Glenelg rather than Glenelg taking it from North and the scoreboard made it look like a cake walk.
Firstly, bad kicking is bad footy. 6 12 to 12 6 said it all. We had as many scoring shots as the Bays and if we could kick straight we would have been right in it. Stewart and Allers both guilty of missing getable shots and both need to look at their kicking.
Secondly, our decision making when kicking in is shockinig. We gifted the ball to them 3 or 4 times, and this has been going on for some time. why don't we learn our lesson. Wintle, Ward, Starkie and Gallman all guilty of turning it over and we just can't do that and get away with it against any side, let alone one like the Bays.
Thirdly, we gave away too many 25 metre penalties. I don't know if they were all justified or not but when you argue with the ump you are going to lose. Just shut your trap and concentrate on the man on the ball. 3 x 25 mtre penalties gave Glenelg a goal, and Wintle, our club captain who should know better, was also guilty of gifting them a goal for the same reason. This shows a lack of discipline and does nothing but put us under pressure.
Finally, we kicked the ball into the man at least four times and when Younie did it 45 out in front, a chance of a goal was gone. Stewart was also gulity from the pocket so how can we kick a goal if we can't get it past the man standing. Do we not practice this sort of thing.
In the cold light of day, North were always going to be up against it against the best side in the league this year and to be fair, with a makeshift side full of inexperienced players, we did ok up to half time. I have no idea why Jars played Starkie, Brown, Thompson, McGahey in a game like this, and when we lost McIntyre and O'Brien (both I can only assume have injuries) it was going to be tough. Like last week we let the opposition blast us in the 3rd qtr and after a promising start, O'Hara just got pumped in the ruck and with Jimmy no doubt still not fully fit, they just got on top of the stoppages. Thought Bode was outstanding for them, and just about started everything for them. For us, I thought McGahey was outstanding on Backwell, Matty Wright and Jimmy Allan also did ok, the Bays has too many good players overall.
In short bad mistakes, undisciplined play, bad kicking and an inexperienced side cost us, but that last 10 minute capitulation was embarrassing to listen to.

Don't get on your bandwagon yet Bay supporters, you were very very ordinary today against a very pathetic and non caring opposition, you should have won that game by at least 20 goals

so you reckon you guys were alright, believe your coach gave your players a huge serve after the game, keep the faith and keep winning, just remember there is only one side you can really beat in a G/F and thats us and we wont even be in the 5

11 in a row Locky... me thinks glenelg supporters have every right to be pleased with that..... wins V North at Prospect, Doggies at Elizabeth, Sturt at Unley... not a bad first 14 rounds. Sometimes the oppositions crap can bring you down a peg or 2 and at this time of the year. Thats what happened in the first half- a stack of pressure around the ball. Glenelg turned it on when needed. A superb performance after half time. Forward line pressure(Todd Grima and Dogga sensational), dominant ruckman and midfield(Fish, Tommy Holmes and John Hinge clearance work in the 3rd) and a defence that was constantly setting up attack.
Beating North at Prospect by 10 goals... we'll take that all day every day. 3 weeks ago everyone was questioning whether we were "genuine" and these 3 games were going to be the "decider" of that. My mind is made up. While still I think there are plenty of danger games and any of the top 5 can come through on their day... Glenelg's intensity and pressure can not be questioned. At stages where we arent at our best we dont drop away.
And Jars... leave Timmy Delvins where he is.. his reputation, committment to the club and determination is enhanced every week despite your stubborn refusal to be proven wrong. He doesnt really now need to be apart of the rabble red and white side I watched today.

We've been ordinary all year HTH. Seem to have lost heart and a long way away from the spirit we showed against Sturt and then the Eagles last year.

Bay supporters, I am not having a go, all I am saying is dont get on your high horse, North were pathetic today, I believe those words were mentioned in ones sides rooms after the game, from what I saw all I am saying is you should have won by 20 goals and you didn't, hope you go now all the way to the finals without a loss, then get spelly to start to start putting up Stats

You're half right there locky. You were ordinary.
A cocky Bay supporter?
You perennial under-achievers might want to wait until you win something first, before shooting your mouths off about how "wonderful" your club is.
You were ordinary, your club is ordinary & your history is ordinary.
Should re-name yourself the Glenelg Ordinaries

As bad as North are/were today, sides just don't get blown over by 20 goals on their own ditch, locky. You have to get smashed for four quarters for that to happen. And if that had happened today, Andrew Newton would probably be cleaning out his desk tonight, instead of in September.

Good solid win. A most enjoyable day at Prossie today. Nothing to get too carried away about, but if you told me this morning the Bays would win by 10 goals, I would've taken that EVERY time.
Hooray for the cheers from all the Bays fans everytime the stupid rooster sound was aired over the PA after a North goal...seems quite silly to play this when your side is down by 6 goals.
Most pleasing about the win is that we weren't relying so heavily on Backwell, Fisher and Kane to do all the work...we had contributions from every player, right across the board. Bode and Grima were sensational up forward, but the work of Kirkby and Duldig shouldn't be ignored.
Sherwood got towelled up early by big Alleway, prompting Mickan to shift Rudolph onto him, which was a good move for us. Stewart was a pretty handy player for North. At half time, I got word that Jimmy Allan had 24 touches, and Archard had 22. I think I was told that Allan finished with 37 and Archard 29 or so...to be honest, I didn't notice Allan all that much, despite his impressive numbers.
Congratulations to the Bays for winning all 4 grades this weekend. A special mention to the Reserves, who were up against the second-placed Roosters, and trailing by 5-6 goals before they came home with a wet sail and stole the win...it really got all the supporters fired up.
Big challenge for the Bays to move past the big three weeks they have just endured, beating Centrals, Sturt and now North, to play bottom-placed Westies this week. I hope we're switched on and give Westies the respect they deserve...

If you're going to quote me mate, get it right. I said nothing of our club. Just that you were ordinary, even locky agrees with that.
As for the rest your drivelling wind up: 738586.

absolute bulls51t there, i was in the rooms & there was no huge serve in any form whatsoever infact they were praised in the workmanlike performance & a couple of players were mentioned for doing their job they were given brilliantly & then he told them what as in store for them for the rest of the week etc
