Sounds like South didn't stop trying but were just unable to bridge the gap. Good to see the younger players featuring in South's best, including Boyd and Rolfe, also well done to Alex Splitt who played his first league game today.
Well done to Norwood, too many talls up forward.

30 scoring shots to 17. We should have creamed the Panthers today but at least we got the points.

Anyone know who kicked all the points?
Was it from way out or under pressure, or just poor kicking?
Did the team appear as named in the end?

I saw the second half, free entry.
the weather was better in the second half then the first half.
some kid called Walker, will be and should be playing for his AFL side, just finds room where there is no room.
Norwoods points from what i saw was mainly poor kicking.
South looked the winners at 3/4 time, they were only 2 goals or so down coming home with the breeze and i think the SA players after getting first goal of the 1/4 in the first minute thought it was all over, even though they were still trailing....

ALSO an SAFOOTY poster, was abused by a SA player - fullback - for kicking the ball back to Jericho even though it was the SA players kick. Im guessing the SA player didnt realise who this person was...and if he in fact knew the person he would apologise unreservedly for his language.

Best players?
I agree, I'd love to see who kicked all the points. Hopefully not Cockshell.

With Norwood being outside of the five, this being a home game and Brendon Lade being in from the Power, this was a game I hoped we would be a chance of winning, yet as usual its another loss recorded to the club, thank God I suppose that it wasnt the Bays or Sturt today!
I think its pretty safe to say that at this halfway mark the season is well and truly over for the SAFC. West are beneath us on the ladder, so I suppose when we play them next that is one that we might have a chance of winning, yet any other SANFL side would not have to much trouble in penciling in their upcomming clash with South as a potential win.
I dont go along with the excuse though that the mounting losses at the club are as a result of a thin list, when you consider that the same list under Jack Cahill managed to account for Glenelg, Port at Alberton, and West and drew with Norwood at the Parade, yet I have the distinct feeling that this issue will not be raised with the playing group as its fairly obvious that the issues that Kevin Morris identified at South are still present and are in fact still the same reasons why the club is not competitive at SANFL level.

Yes Slattery resigned yesterday for personel and family reasons
Slattery was in Melbourne today to watch his son play for the State in U/18 championships
Does that answer your question

He asked the club for the week off so he could watch his son play in Melbourne in the U/18s. First they said okay then they changed their mind & said no. I'm not sure what happened next, but he didn't resign, he got the chop.
Damian Minervini is the new Reserves new coach as of today.

Cripes. It has taken us years to get back in the five and the Panters' fans are kicking us out already. It's about time Norwood went on to actually win matches we were supposed to win instead of coughing up upsets and going back to 7th yet again. The job obviously isn't done yet but it seems we are at last starting to progress, although the unhealthy reliance on AFL listed players remains.

I heard he had an understanding with the club at the start of the year that if Tyson was playing in the U/18's he would be able to watch and not coach. Maybe the club changed their view on it after losing Jack and Michael Taylor. Maybe Clay didn't want Slats around either.
