Eagles V Norwood Rnd 22 vs AAMI crows clash dilemma

Arranging in advance plans with a norwood & crows supporting mate discovered the following

Saturday 30 August
Round 22
Eagles v Norwood @ Eagle Park
2pm start

Down the road
Crows V Bulldogs @ AAMI
3-40pm WTF start - since when is that a footy time???.

CD what is the clubs rationale for sticking with the saturday timeslot when all other clubs are scheduled Sunday? The crowd will be decimated.
IIRC The last time this happened was a match at alberton when the crows played hawthorn at aami, albeit a 2-30 start time

What does a Fully paid up Eagles & Crows Member do??.

1) Lobby Eagles to change match to Sunday, along with the other 3 SANFL games
2) Lobby Eagles to change start time for ressies & league to an hour earlier?
3) Attend first half of Eags Match, by which time Norwood might have it won (like last time) - then to AAMI on footy express
4) Attend first half of Eags Match, by which time Eagles would have it won (like most times) - then to AAMI on footy express
5) Attend all of Eags Match, then last half at AAMI via taxi
6) Attend AAMI (always good seeing any type of bulldog lose at AAMI) & tape the eagles match for later perusal, presuming it wil be on ABC1 and a reason why saturday & time can't change.

I know a few Eags members who are also Crows Members, what are people doing?

Our turn to be the ABC game in competition with the AFL - happens to all at some time in that a saturday game must be programmed.

Dont be weak and pick the AFL over the SANFL!!!
I dont know how many times Geelong have clashed with Norwood games and Geelong only come here twice a year! Follow your heart and stick with the SANFL, your "club" needs all the supporters it can get!

i WOULD assume you have been an EAGLES fan and member long before the crows came along, so there should only be one answer - oval ave.

I was lucky, Carlton drew Port on Saturday & then Glenelg played Port on Sunday.

Carlton drew Adelaide at 1440 on Saturday the 02 Aug, the Glenelg play Central @ Elizabeth at 1830. Perfect...double header !!

Having said that, I'd put the Bays over Crows any day

A tough one and looks like it could be a big SANFL game with top 5 spot on the line. If it was that big a game your would have to go to Oval Ave then try get to FP Park for the last quater.

ps, i'll be at woodville

surely if your eagles are playing for a finals spot or indeed a double chance spot you'd be at woodville

I will be at the Eagles v Legs

I will also save $10 on parking - thieves!!!!!!

I will also be standing in my usual spot and not walking past a load of blankets reserving seats!!!

SANFL anyday, everyday- and the crowd numbers this year are showing that I am not alone!

not a hard choice, the heart is always with the SANFL and that rules anyday over the AFL. What do the Crows give? do they allow easy access to the players to caht after the game. The Eagles would do like any other SANFL club.

Eagles game will finish at approx 4.30, so then you can go into the Eagle bar, have a drink and watch the second half of the crows on the tv and spend some money over the bar which goes back to the Eagles.

Absolutely. It's hard to get passionate about the AFL anymore, and I challenge every supporter of every club where there are clashes such as these to follow the Bays example and get on the SANFL bandwagon!

If it was your only chance to actually see your AFL team...ie support the visitors...then I'd agree it would be a dilemma. But you can go to other, non-clashing Crows games. Not sure if lobbying anyone would change anything...there's always going to be clashes at some point in the season...pretty inevitable really.

Personnally, no question, I'd pick SANFL every time.

JAS

Bayman I'll be up the back of the stand where I always sit (in my old age  ).If you see Cd he will point out my Eagle nest seat (nose bleeds and pulled hamstrings to get that high  ).
Eagles over Crows or Power Every day of the god damn week!!!!
Yes I know cut me and I bleed GREEN GOLD AND BLUE (no jokes ).
And the Eagles play an interesting brand of footy not that go back go forward go back like the crows do !!!!!!!!!

You're kidding aren't ya?
For the first time in 15 years the AFL has an attacking exciting to watch side as the no 1 side in the country.
It's been hard to get passionate about it since the mid 90s but is very easy now. :?

Thanks for all of the views, all supporting SANFL option. No surprise for the SANFL forum.

We will be attending the full SANFL match, a top three spot is still achievable!!.

If there was a choice over an Eagles Flag vs a Crows Flag, I would take the Eagles Flag everyday of the week. But still a passionate member of both clubs since 1991. 9 current Eags on the crows list makes it hard not to be.

Cheers

No, Geelong and Western Bulldogs are those sides. Most of the other teams spend their time handballing and playing kick to kick.
