The win will count for zilch...

...if the Eagles players are just satisfied with that and lose this week. Surely the players can see how the win is appreciated at the end of the match, with a lot of fans giving them a standing ovation heading into the changerooms. As one of those fans, I can say for certain that everyone wants to see that consistently, because we know it is in them! Saturday is proof of that! There is no excuse for anything less this week, particularly when the players have an extra week to recover the following round.

I'm posting this because I want to let the players know from the supporters point of view. There's no point in saying that the same thing I've just said is in their minds, because only saying this will eventuate that they will lapse back into thinking that turning up will win a match once out on the playing field.

Dogger are you refering to the club starting slowly and then getting a good head of steam as the finals approach ? Something like Centrals do every year ?
I would love to know what Fuller said or did that got the guys going forward again on saturday.Anyone hear his pre match address ?

He said its time to stand up.

Today we play our nemisis.

Be accountable.

Forget the past. Run, Run, Run.

It's time to stand up and show SA what we can produce.

Nothing special.

No Magic.

Ron Fuller the Champion Coach..!

The Eagles at their best are a better side than Port Adelaide. But we certainly cannot afford any drop off in intensity and must again play four solid quarters. Surely there will be ample motivation for the players to be switched on again this week.

When I saw how many changes the Eagles made at the start of the year I thought that it would be very difficult for them to be a consistant force. New teams especially with young players tend to be a bit up and down. The Eagles form on Saturday showed that they have recruited well and when they find form they are formidable. To be able to do this week in week out now is the challenge. They may be a year or two away at this stage.

As I said earlier this week on another thread

"One win doesn't make the season even as good as it was - next week at Alberton will be the proof of whether or not we've got the right headset for the rest of the year.

If ever the Eagles boys needed all Eagles fans to make the effort to get to the ground it is this coming week."

Totally agree Spelly - not just the players but must be the attitude of all at Oval Ave - we cant drop back to the unacceptable level of a couple of weeks ago - we've all got to make it happen (again).

See you at the footy - c'mon the high flying Eagles

I've been saying it ALL year...Schwarze is a forward player, not a defender...

I've also been saying that the Eagles will make the finals...I still expect them to do so...

Iv been saying that schwartze is a forward not a defender for over 12months same goes for grocke and mckenzie should be in the middle and decent rovers , not the crap we have put up with ie fairy ,hicks ! May be ronnie learnt something on sat. Passador should be at half forward hes not the class of schwartze , not by the length of highway 1 !!!!!

Passador FF, Schwarze CHF.

A very scary prospect for opposition defences...

Scwartze is the best FF by a mile and grocke the best CHF by a mile pass would have to fit in some were else.

I've seen him play in the backlines against us a few times, in particular in that record breaking 2004 GF...

Even though Danny Schell kicked a few on him and Nathan Bock that day, maybe Ronnie can turn the Pass into a solid full back (or is he too slow ??? :-k )

Big Phil...

Is it a record to lose by 13 odd goals one week, then win by a higher margin the next week?

Hes to slow in the back half , the only place for pass is forward pocket or Hff

No, Eagles lost by 85 points in 1995 against Central, then won by 101 points against Glenelg the following week.
