Ron Fuller Apology Thread !!!

Postby eaglehaslanded » Sun Jun 29, 2008 11:17 pm

I want to take this opportunity to humbly aplogise to Ron Fuller the league coach of the Eagles Football Club. I went a bit over the top last week by starting another thread - IT'S TIME TO GO !!!. My passion for our great club gets me into trouble occasionaly. I was very frustrated at the result of our previous game against Sturt and went a bit overboard. I love our club (The Eagles) and I am right behind the club and will continue to do so through thick and through thin. Sometimes coaches can get balmed for things too easily and this was the case with my previous thread. Sometimes the players themselves have to take a bit of a rap for poor performance in this case they certainly have recognised it and with a more committed and passionate perfrmance this week turned things right around.

Congratulations to Ron and all of the coaching staff may we have many more successful weeks to come.

I wondered how long it would take for this thread to be created and fire up...

I asked the question yesterday on the review topic of the Eagles v Doggies game... 8)

Well done to those that apologise, but I'm sure if the Eags don't back it up against Port, Ronnies head will be on the chopping block again

Big Phil wrote:It will be interesting to see if all the Eagles fans out there that were calling for Ronnie Fuller's head before today's game are gonna turn full circle and start calling the man a genius and insisting the borad sign him on again ??? Where are all the Ronnie haters now ???

Big Phil... :D

Based on what saw on the weekend, I think the Eags should win comfortably, even though Port got up over the Roosters... :D

Big Phil...

Why are you apologising for being honest?

That is part of the problem at a club like ours, we ACCEPT mediocrity.

Port Fans for years & years spoke their mind about pathetic performances & look at their record.

I have a REAL ISSUE with saying "Oh well, at least we made the Grand Final".

Just MAKING the final is NOT good enough & the sooner the Club, Players, Coaching Staff AND Supporters acknowledge that 'just being there' is enough, or in this case "Oh, sorry Ronnie", the sooner the club can step out of the shadows cast by Port, Centrals, etc.

I totally agree LEH its about time we got tough not suck up ! We have only won one GF in the ronnie years and lost 3 not good enough we win one then sit back and do nothing ie recruiting . We could loose up to 8 players next year ,we should be signing up schwarze, grocke , rimington, passador etc NOW before any one else gets them and with 2 more gayfl teams comming in we have to sign them up now and recruit more now ,the early eagle catches the worm !!!!!

For me the Jury is still out .I keep hearing things about Ron that do not please me!!
I did apologise to the players .Thats it for me .

Ron has done a great job at the club .
But I think time has moved past himself some of the board members(not the ones who post here  ) and the recruiting staff.I will not knife him anymore but I think 2009 a new man will be at the helm.

And i wrote this in the Centrals match review

Quote myself-----------------------------------------------------
I know thats a Troll SJABC .But after reading the link that Jas put up from the paper .And the fact that Ron has not been attending Presentations due to his other job ,when the club has lost .He did not attend this week either after a win !!

Make our own conclusions from that .Or Ron is very busy at 2 jobs

So what did Ron say to the Boys to get both teams to play a hell of a lot better than against sturt.

Only time will tell whether the Eagles season is back on track. The coaching staff need to be given credit for their efforts in turning things around within a wee though. I'll wait and see how the remainder of the season pans out before making any more assesments over Ron's future. He has been a great leader over the years and haven't given him enough creditin previous threads - Finals in every year he has coached are a testament to his leadership qualities it's just a pity we didn't have a couple more premiersips to go along with it though.

It's not my club so I can't comment with any authorotive idea but it seems that you guys are jumping the gun a bit, your club has been playing finals footy for a long time now, have been dominant in the league for a decade or more and have a flag for it. So I think Fuller has done alot for your club and deserves a bit more respect than what is coming out now, change comes at the right time and hopefully by the right means at a footy club

Gotta love quoting yourself.

*sigh*

So if the Eagles go out and lose to Port this week, or South or Westies, do the fans then jump back on the "it's time to go" wagon? One good win and suddenly all is forgiven.

The guy has done so much for your club.

Disgraceful.
