Sub 1000 crowd? The Norwood/West crowd wasn't much better. It could get ugly.

Could well be given Life FM are broadcasting it AND Norwood has its Hall of Fame night for 2008 inductions plus the 1978 premiership reunion, being held at the Hilton Hotel that night. Its a long way for most Norwood supporters to go to Noarlunga, then home, then get in to the city for dinner and drinks. Plus, IIRC we dont have a great record there in recent years.

Has the SANFL ever had a crowd less than 1000 (in Adelaide)?

Was just wondering the same thing - what are the 5 lowest ever crowd figures for a minor round game for premiership points, which clubs played, where and in what year?

Norwood won there the last time they played.

There were a couple of sub 1000 attendances in the thirties, but in 1999 South and Central had 950 attend at Noarlunga.

I'll be there, and at the Hall of Fame as well! Can't wait to smash them, the bigger oval will suit Norwood a lot better than our own home ground does. I expect a workman-like 40 - 50 point away win.

if South can win enough footy at the stoppages they have the forwards (Warren & Lade)to get over the line.

Did Lade play for the 8th placed reserves team this weekend?

Do you think he will definitely be at South this week again?

Lade has been cleared by the Power to play for South this week, that is why he didnt play reserves this week.

Clay Sampson is under a lot of pressure to get a win on the board and I think that this will be Souths best chance of a win for the next few rounds. South have played some bloody awful football though this year, yet began the season in good form, if South can get back to that form we can account for Norwood this week.

I am not a fan of Clay Sampson after recent events at the club, yet the law of averages would suggest that he has to get some joy sooner rather than later!

South for me by 18 points.

Bryce Campbell should be a handy in for the Legs, although we're probably every chance to lose Mass back to the Cows .. Trotter and Doyle should continue to benefit from the added hitouts

Will Doyle get a game this week...? or will he surprise everyone and be out injured....?

Lade had a spell this weekend and should be fresh for Saturday v Norwood. Will be wearing blue and white this week and will be a tough matchup one on one for anyone at sanfl level.

He did actually cop a knock yesterday, so couldn't say for sure ... Most Norwood fans wouldn't be upset to see Kenrick Tyrell or Rob De Jongh back in the seniors anyway.

It is easy to make jokes about Noarlunga crowds but this year I believe those comments are misplaced

As at today the Panthers are placed 6th in avg home game crowds this year

1ST - GLENELG Avg 6190 (6gms)
2ND - NORWOOD Avg 4874 (6gms)
3RD - CENTRAL* Avg 3918 (5gms)
4TH - STURT Avg 3611 (6gms)
5TH - PORT Avg 3159 (5gms)
6TH - SOUTH Avg 2388 (5gms)
7TH - EAGLES^ Avg 2361 (6gms)
8TH - NORTH Avg 2325 (6gms)
9TH - WEST Avg 1764 (5gms)

^ - Thebarton Games included
* - Adelaide Oval Anzac Day Game 4,393 not included

South have shown steady improvements in home match crowds over tha past few years

2005 - 1530 per game
2006 - 1768 per game
2007 - 1901 per game
2008# - 2388 per game

# - after 5 home games.

North have changed to Sat games this year, so that might have some effect, up against AvFL. I think they have changed 2 back to Sundays though, including next weeks
