A lot are talking about the league but the ressies certainly took an interesting twist today with the 2 most dominant sides in Sturt and North both going down today, makes the comp a lot more interesting!

We had the chance to be well in front in the Reserves today too, in the third quarter at one stage we had double the scoring shots, yet only led by 5 points - 8.12 to 9.1. Then Central got the upper hand, led by Hadden who should (no, will) be in the League next week.

Yeah and the inconsistant Doggies reserve side got over the line earlier, keeping their finals hopes on track.

Coached by a club legend and one of my favourit all time players in Damian Hicks, well done Hicksey !!??

Big Phil...

What's the ladder looking like, I haven't seen it all season?

Having a look at this weeks Budget, it now should look like:

Sturt 10 wins
North 9 wins
Glenelg 8 wins
Central 6 wins
Port 4 wins
West 4 wins
Eagles 4 wins
Norwood 4 wins
South 1 win

The main interest would be who takes 5th spot, as there is not much difference in the percentage seperating the teams.

I watch sturt v glenelg yesterday and sturt had a lot of kids that have been playing under 19's running around. These kids were probably sturts better players.

Glenelg seem to have a very old reserves team by today's standards.

Injuries always play a part inn the reserves.

Then finals come along and the clubs not playing seniors then load up their reserves so form goes out the window anyway.

Thanks for the tables mate, Sturt and Glenelg certainly have taken a stranglehold of the Stanley H Lewis, full marks to both clubs on a great achievement so far!

Dogs set up the win in the two's in the 3rd qtr, then ran away with it in the last, think Westhoff kicked at least 3, maybe 4 of his 5 goals in the last qtr.

Eagles boys just ran out of steam again, lots of encouraging performances though yesterday, particularly from Dennis Redden the boys back from the under 18's.

As usual, wins in grades other than the League make almost no difference, except to split successful league teams.

The points system is a waste of time.

PS: grantj, West's U17's win ratio isn't 50%, if you want to correct your excellent tables.

Also, Norwood and South should have 50pts more for the League draw, as well as 10pts more for Central and Norwood for the 17s draw.

Average age of 20 years, 262 days. Not really that old (we have fielded older teams in the past few years), but we did have 13 players with League experience.

It would be interesting to see the average age of the other clubs reserves teams

I doubt anyone would record this for other teams but yes it would be interesting to see...

Spelly - here's a challenge for you - work out the average age of every SANFL League and Reserves team ever!
(It will be easy once we finally get all the game by game player details and DOBs in the one database...)

Getting the quarter by quarter game scores since 1907 took you years but you still managed it.
No stats task is too big for Spelly!
