The AFL already pay the wage of a good number of SANFL employees, throw a few bucks at the SAAFL and we will find them willing to change their name as well.

I'd say so too. The little guys (and gals) - us supporters will probably have little impact on this issue.

we have 2 afl teams based in adelaide, we/they/sanfl paid $4,000,000.00 for each team, so charge the afl $10,000,000.00 for a name change & make a profit....after all the sanfl is a business

In the past, I have been under the impression that the AFL want the administration renamed only and the football competition could remain the SANFL. Hopefully that is all that is changing - in Victoria, the administration is now AFLVIC or something similar, the competition is still called VFL.

Maybe it could be the South Australian Australian Australian Football League, it shows we are from SA, from Australia and now part of the AFL.

Seriously though, is this a proposal because the AFL wants football in this country to be referred to as AFL, not Australian Rules Football?

I was only looking at this yesterday and wondered how long it would be before we conformed...
