RD 12: West v Port Review

Postby NFC » Sun Jun 22, 2008 6:54 pm

Possibly the worst game of football I have ever seen. Shocking skills, from both teams, some poor umpiring decisions too throughout the day.

Better players for Port were Hargraves, Carr, Thurgood and maybe a few others. For West, Cupido kicked 5 but his spudity cost them about 2 or 3 more. Brown gets a lot of the ball but man he burns it a lot. Ferguson was very good, Ezard tried hard all day, Moran was good in defence and Dangerfield was pretty classy.

Cupido was excellent kicking 5 goals.
I think today I saw why Andy Collins has played him defence for half a year.
Cupido chased opponents.
Cupido handballed in the forward 50.
And WA could not get to 9 goals today.

WA are slowly improving
PA might be dangerous if can stay injury free

Also Timmy G may have saved his coaching career today ?
Imagine the ramifications if PA lost today
Also Steven Williams was in the crowd today....
Scott Hodges was in the crowd today....
They have a good run home and may pinch 5th spot

I dont know if Port have ever won a wooden spoon or not, yet it would seem likely that they have lifted themselves out of the immediate danger of winning one this year with todays win over Westies. :?

Are Port back? I think we will know the answer to that question in the next few weeks as they play North then the Eagles who are placed in a similar position to them on the table, win both games and maybe yes they are back..... :(

A good source told me today Hodges & those West boys mentioned above were catching up on old times, downing a few coldies in the mound bar at Richmond.
They all went upstairs in the Westonians bar after the game.
Fair paddock a couple of them have been in aswell apparently!
Good to hear the blokes were enjoying themselves, Hodges had the last laugh with the Magpies winning, he & his wife also won a couple of prizes in the Westonians raffle.
Well done.

Yes, I was in the Westonians and can vouch for that :D

From a Westies point of view it was great to catch up again with big Adam Richardson, Ed Richardson, Tim Symes and Shane Tuck.
