A big fortnight lays ahead of the Tigers. As they take on the Dogs this week at the ponderosa and a game against league leading Double Blues at bay awaits. I guess we're set to find out what the bays are really made of. Are they pretenders or genuine contenders? Only time will tell. What are your thoughts.

I think your spot on think we will also find out what Sturt and Centrals are made of in the next 2 weeks

its the most exciting top 3 scenarios as any team can thump the other on their day.

A BIG FORTNIGHT well yes i suppose it is but the players are taking it one game at a time

The first test passed but only just - Now onwards to the leauge leading Blue Boys. I'm betting a tougher test this week. I'm not sure the Tigers have what it takes to win this one. Sturt for mine but one out of two ain't bad.

Glenelg has beaten Sturt the last 4 times, can the Blues break through @ the Bay..... i doubt it. Both teams have improved significantly from those that played in last years elimination final. Sturts forward line still concerns me, as Chambers/Perrie/Herring/Coad/Evans etc have the ability to kick huge scores 20 goals+.

sturt could have from 4 to 7 players out so glenelg presuming we prepare properly should win easily (we have made that mistake before against sturt) but with so many out it means nothing if/when they meet in the finals

That sums this game up pretty well Bayman and where the 2 teams are coming from, the Bays should be comfortable favourites going into the game and Sturt a little shakey considering injuries, you guy's have a good ruckman in Cranston who is in great form and a good group of ball winners in the guts that seem to understand each other pretty well,(going by our last encounter and the R22 meeting last year), so with a huge question about our ruckmen for this game it's stating the obvious to say the game will be won at the stoppages, our ball winners will have to feed off your rucks to be getting first touch. So it's a very interesting challenge infront of the BlueBoys this week as to how they approach the game and if they can work a win out of the contest. Looking forward to it immensely.

Eagleshaslanded you ask this question of Glenelg....in reference to their next 2 weeks... deciding if they "Are they pretenders or genuine contenders?

I ask this question.... "drop one game out of the 3... does that make Glenelg pretenders?" I would presume they'd be 10-2.. hardly a "pretenders" win loss ratio at round 14. I think any fair minded football supporter would count Glenelg as a genuine finals contender already. I think its a bit far fetched to suggest a loss to North at Prospect or a loss to Sturt would deem the Glenelg side to be mere pretenders. Wins v Centrals at Eliz, Sturt at Unley and Norwood at Norwood suggest the Glenelg football club is on its way (albeit cautiously) to September.

September is a start...but I'd like to see my side playing in October...

North are not out of it yet...on their day, they can beat anyone, and the Eagles I expect to make up the final five, so it is still anyone's race. North and the Eagles are about 40% behind the Blues, Dogs and Bays at this stage though.

NEVER rule out the Dogs in finals. Their reputation as being able to put it all together when it counts the most is quite remarkable.

Blues and Bays have it all before them, but injuries to key personnel and suddenly it's a different story.
