Bryron played for Ceduna Blues today, didn't have a big day got a few kicks did some nice things, we be better for the gallop as he didn't look real match fit.

Thought it would only be a matter of time before Choppy ended up pulling the boots back on somewhere over on the West coast...

Would have to be the highest paid footballer in the Ceduna comp...

Just getting match fit for the finals one would think, glad to see him with the boots back on and having a kick though

With his premierships and Norm Smith I'd suggest he has had the last laugh.

You are right Dog, he has lost his way & i'm a fan of the way he plays his footy but the reasons he returned to Alberton & then leaving them without playing a game was a joke, taking & not giving back doesn't comprehend with me sorry.

I strongly suspect that Byron has a lot more going on in his life than most people realise. His actions over the years in fact seem more in line with depression actually. Considering what he gave to the AFL, particularly in his North and Port days I don't think he "owes" the game anything. And I don't think the game owes him either. He got well paid for his service, and I sincerely wish him all the best in whatever he goes on to do. If he does in fact have depression (and I stress that I have no information to go on other than my own thinking about how he has been portrayed by the media) then hopefully he gets the help and support needed to recover.

Byron could have been a massive inclusion for the SANFL, and considering the problems Port are having on the field, a reasonably fit Pickett would have added so much to the comp that could then have had 8 competetive teams at the start of the season rather than the 4 we seem to have had too often with an undeserving team making the numbers in 5th spot.

Not according to Mark Williams. Apparantley its prancing around like a peacock, hitting guys when theyre not looking, kneeing them when theyre on the ground, showing a lack of discipline giving away stupid frees and 50m penalties whilst managing to get thrashed on the scoreboard and in the hard ball gets.

But yes according to Mark Thompson you're right and Id probably go with the coach of the higher ranked side when trying to work out the answer to that question. ;)
